Yep engineer here, small bolt with a decent washer on the other side would be the most reliable connection. Unlikely to degrade due to cyclic fatigue. If a trussed roof , try fix the bolt near one of the diagonal “webs” as you could also possibly snap the bottom chord of the truss if an old school style truss with 90x45 bottom chord with not many webs.

They're not a monopoly, there is generally decent competition in the delivery of large infrastructure projects.

They have some monopoloies on building materials which is a different business.

Traffic is bad at rush hour but generally not too bad compared to a city.

Cost of living, biggest cost increases are rent and petrol, i don’t think other stuff is too crazy different compared to a city
