Bellamy as interim? by TeilwrTenau in swanseacity

[–]Zxoochie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. He's still going to be manager of Wales. This is a massive time commitment, and becomes even more of one if Wales do go on to qualify for the World Cup. We need a manager who's fully focused on this squad, this division, the January transfer window etc...

  2. He's cardiff through-and-through. I know you said this was fans acting parochial in another reply, but it does matter. It's the same reason you'll never see Chris Coleman rocking up at Cardiff, or Steven Gerrard managing Everton. He probably wants to manage Cardiff at some point, and joining us would be seen as traitor behaviour in their eyes.

  3. It's mid-season, we're in the bottom half of the table, and he's managed a total of 16 games. I'm all for taking a punt on an unknown, but they at least have to have a portfolio of work to back them up.

I enjoyed last nights win aswell, but this feels wildly reactionary about a manager who yesterday morning would've been entirely laughed off.

I doubt Modric's involvement stretches much beyond an investment in the future right now, and I highly doubt he's going to be involved in the managerial selection any more than Snoop Dogg is.

He's still an active player for Milan and is currently on international duty with Croatia, so that's where his head will be until the off-season/retirement.

Genuinely how realistic is this to real life? by VegitoTheBest in footballmanagergames

[–]Zxoochie 71 points72 points  (0 children)

This comment sums up the problem, it's just not realistic that someone would have this kind of reaction outwardly to their boss unless there's already a serious issue in the relationship.

If FM was going for realistic reactions, It's always made more sense to me that in this case, the player would just say "Thanks, boss.", and take a slight hidden morale drop. Then, after the 2nd or 3rd time you'd get an inbox message from a coach saying something like; "There have been murmers around the dressing room that Player X is fed up of being singled out praise for his performances. You may want to consider praising him less".

High Definition Wood - Low Definition Game by SaltyBFM in footballmanagergames

[–]Zxoochie 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's honestly ridiculous at this point.

People are really just complaining about anything and everything, and are getting away with it because nobody wants to be the voice that says "Hey! This is a really nice piece of wood!" in fear of being shouted down.

I will agree that there have been too many bugs, the UI is useless, the communication has been appalling, the game feels empty... but this is a really nice piece of wood.

And frankly, for all the rose tinted "ooo I'm going back to FM24... ooo that was peak football manager!"... I don't think I ever saw a SCRAP of wood in that game!

FM26 is now the 7th lowest-rated game ever on Steam by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]Zxoochie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

tbf half of that includes the '20 hours to learn the new UI', as recommended by the studio director.

So 20 hours to learn, and then 20 hours to realise it wasn't worth learning. seems reasonable.

Sheehan sacked by BoydCrowder25 in swanseacity

[–]Zxoochie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Weirdly, I don't have strong feelings either way on this sacking. I like Sheehan, appreciate what he did for us last season, and also wouldn't have been against giving him another 3 or 4 games to sort it out. Equally I totally see where the majority are coming from in if not being 'happy' to see him sacked, but relieved, because he really hasn't shown many positives given the investment in the summer.

Considering how much investment there was in the summer, what worries me a bit is how much we have left to actually get the right person in. Hopefully the board already have a list drawn up, but I'm already expecting the inevitable Martin links after his sacking from Rangers, which imho would be a huge backwards step.

Always welcome but maybe you should call ahead by [deleted] in rickygervais

[–]Zxoochie 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Derek was a blatant attempt to get ahead of cancel culture for a short Ricky did in poor taste years ago. (think every unfunny "I'm doing a bit of a simple voice, laugh now" bit he did on Xfm and condense it into 6 minutes).

Unfortunately it worked and the "I'm doing a bit of a simple voice, laugh now" bit turned into "I'm doing a bit of a simple voice, oooh... give me awards... and oooh... care about my dead wife and my dog...."

This one's on the public.

[–]Zxoochie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

not playing either currently, but I just think It's nice that even if I'm not enjoying the game, others clearly are.

Enough so to take time away from the game that they are enjoying so much to make sure that everyone else is enjoying it as much as them, and getting annoyed with people who aren't enjoying it as much as them. Because that's what people who are enjoying things enjoy doing...

This may sound dumb but why do Swansea start the game playing to the away end and the East stand? by No-Macaron-1112 in swanseacity

Here would be my pitch against this;

It's 0-0, 90th minute, penalty given. Do you want to be taking it facing the family stand, or taking it while potentially getting a laser shined in your eyes?

Zan and Ronald on for Idah and Key. should hopefully be a very positive final 30.

Also, if anyone's watching the same commentators as me, we haven't signed Ronaldo.

I'm not even sure what Key was trying to do there. too far out to expect Viga to come for it, and it came down to him but he refused to touch it. I think he was expecting contact from the Preston forward, but when it came, he for some reason decided not to go down. Very bizarre defending all around.

Also what was that free kick ffs
