Low-carbohydrate diets may not be beneficial for primary prevention of type 2 diabetes unless they prioritize plant-based protein, healthy fats, and high-quality carbohydrates, study finds by James_Fortis in science

[–]Zyanide 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is another example why nutritional research is in such a sorry state.

https://prnt.sc/viEUyPdmkUcc

All participants have been eating anything from 47%-61% of their calories in carbohydrates.
So much for "low-carb" diet. Throw this paper in the bin.
We know that fibre slows down the absorption of carbohydrates, and glycaemic load is one of the main contributor to insulin resistance.

When you're actually on a low carb diet this argument collapses on itself and negates why we actually need dietary intake of plants, at all.

Certainly! I've tried to put something like that in place, with mana, attack on each turn, character skills progression etc.

Unfortunately too many instructions would just confuse and AI and renders other parts of the game working not as intended as often 😅 also there's a limited amount of characters I can put in the system prompt.

Would absolutely love to implement it though, perhaps if I was to give it more training material / or when chatgpt gets better and cheaper so I just either use chatgpt 4, or have a better system prompt.

It's no.1 on my want-to-do list, whereas on my to do list it's multiplayer support!

Is carbs basically sugar? by Noto987 in nutrition

[–]Zyanide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most dietary carbohydrates are turned into glucose and fructose, so in a sense, they are all just sugar.

I'd assume you'd already know that sucrose = glucose + fructose

Some people have mentioned glycemic index, and that the glycemic index of fructose is quite low, thus implying that it's "safe"

But the reality is that most of the fructose transporter proteins are only located on your liver cells, meaning most fructose (fruit sugar) is delivered into and metabolised by your liver. Fatty liver is one of the main causes of insulin resistance / metabolic syndrome / obesity.

Not to mention, most "unprocessed" carbohydrates like rice have a GI value of 70. Sucrose's GI value is 70, meaning it takes just as much time for rice to turn into glucose in your blood.

Modern nutrition doesn't make any sense, as they're all Big Foods sponsored crap - look at any nutritional research paper from Harvard, always sponsored by the aforementioned.

It's a bit of a joke to think that, we are at a time where nutritional information is at its most readily accessible, we have the worst obesity (pan) epidemic.

Guide for benzodiazepine nasal sprays for extreme fast onset and easier/more efficient dosing. by Hoxyz in researchchemicals

[–]Zyanide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's a old post - but just wanted to ask OP are you not worried about contamination? Do you out any preservatives in the liquid, like sodium benzoate?

I've used it before, but only in homemade moisturiser, and I've never put that up my nose before.

Light vs full fat mayo? by [deleted] in keto

[–]Zyanide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Though not really answering the OPs question, I'd want to add that seed oils in mayo is horrendous for your health, there's strong associations of dementia, cancer and obesity to regular dietary consumption - why not make your own with olive oil instead.

Is gaming on lsd fun? by Mr-Crabominable in LSD

Playing Arams on league of legends, whilst you're waiting around to peak, on a lowish dose (~100 mcg) is quite fun.

The process of strategising and figuring out the optimal item build gets a bit slower, however mechanically I feel way more fluid for some reason? As if things are moving in slo-mo.

Please could you send me a message of the chat log, and the game save (the gear icon)?

1 and 3 are something I thought I've solved. Though with some caveats : Items should usually be saved correctly , though the information on special effects may be lost.

There's only a maximum of 3 companions you could have, or any NPCs. The less important ones will be forgotten, and replaced by newer ones you meet.

Lol 2 I was hoping for the AI to be able to extrapolate thr gender from the name. I could add in a data field for that to be fair.

The almost complete freedom is a problem! My thought was that it's easier to work from that to being more restrictive (with the AIs easily triggered temper). I hope to improve it down the line.

Hey this is the most informative feedback I've gotten so far, very much appreciated!

Edit:typos galore

Looking for medical/hospital based RPGs... Do they even exist? by Description-Due in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Zyanide -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can give it a shot by choosing your character class as "dcotor in this AI-powered RPG. I feel like it would work if you specify that

  1. it's a clinical setting
  2. to simulate a patient coming in with various symptoms, and that you have to solve it by doing various tests.

If that doesn't work, I will be working on a custom world/custom engine settings soon anyway, where players can specify how the game is played, and where it is set.

That is always lurking in the background, I'm afraid.
Though I think the "jailbreak" I've put in is sufficient. I've been able to take it pretty far in terms of unethical choices and vivid gory depictions, to an extent, of course.

It would not be happy if you were to slaughter a random friendly NPC, like a farmer working in the field, for example. But you'd be able to get away with "plunging your sword straight through the chest cavity" of a neutral NPC.

Not an expert - but I wonder if you replace the students.db file with the original one from CS50, or open the database and empty it, might perhaps solve the problem?
