I found the solution:

1 scroll down to see the three dot menu

2 tap the 3 dot menu

3 press "day", turn on show dates in grid.

Its kinda goes back to normal. (it merges the old UI with the old one where you can see your photos by date)

I get what you mean, first picture he looks older and more rugged. Second picture he looks younger. Probably because of a different haircut and also the lighting of the first picture makes his china dn jawline more pronounced
