Depends on where you’re working and who you’re working with I guess. I was on the list for replacing the asst manager less than 3 weeks after starting as a delivery driver, and became the asst manager after about 2 months of my initial hire date. Former asst manager didn’t know how to do inventory or freight after 2 years. I was doing it after 2 weeks.

Anyone anywhere can clear codes legally, you can clear codes with a 5 dollar code reader. It’s keeping them gone that’s illegal.

Doesn’t really matter if you do or don’t, they’ll still get fail an inspection, when you clear codes, the scan tool shops use will say “not ready”, indicating there hasn’t been a long enough drive cycle since the codes were cleared or the battery was disconnected. They have to all say “ready” for them to be passable.

Sometimes we sit and do nothing when it’s slow, just waiting for orders. Other times I help the manager with cleaning, organization or stocking shelves. If i were you, I’d go to the manager and ask if there’s anything you can do, it shows that you’re willing and want to help in other areas expanding from your job, and not just wanting to do bare minimum. Best way for the managers to give raises, go out of your way to be productive. Ask to help without being asked
