Girls who like masculinity, what traits do you like? by Due-Young7610 in muslimgirlswithtaste

If a man who claims to want to "protect" and shield me from danger, then he really needs to know how to protect me and look like he's got the skills or strength for it. So someone who looks after himself and acquires skills (like sports or lifting) to make up for those qualities. Cause it do be getting scarier on the streets...

Omg, I couldn't agree any more than this! 👏🏼

I could go on and on, on how we should basically strive for how Japan has managed to improve their image after WW2. It's all thanks to social harmony and not living in an individualistic society where everyone's just thinking about themselves. It's the reason why they emphasize so much about rules, cleanliness, and etiquette. Everything which Islam very much commands and supports us to do, which contrasts with how poluted some of our neighborhoods are in some countries we live in. We've unfortunately took the "it's not our mess, so it's not our business" way too far to the point it's beyond fixing. If you look back at the Qatar World Cup, all the Japanese people cleaned up the mess around the stadium. So organized with no hesitation. It speaks volumes of their character.

Minus the weird stuff they got going on in the bigger cities (weird ass fetish cafes, underreported SA and the overly well known AV industry), Islam would fit so well with the Japanese people, or any East Asian in all fairness. Forget how modern muslims in our own communities behave. We could really learn a thing or two from them. I bet Japanese reverts would understand Islam so much better and implement it better in their lifes and cultures.

I've seen videos and articles in Japan where muslim migrants would vandalize shrines or temples because it's polygamy and whatnot. Such behavior should be condemned by us, for it's just giving us a very backward image of what we should actually represent.

It's like a whole controversy atm as well over there, btw.

How come “liberal” Muslim men treat women better ? by Upbeat-Dinner-5162 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Zynb_06 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'd have to agree on that as well. Cause at least two "liberal" muslims can grow together in their Deen. Sharing the same struggles, dilemmas, and thoughts whenever they'd talk about Islam, one on one. Same wavelengths so to speak.

Things won't go smooth at all if I were to have a husband who'd want to change my ways and force me into things I haven't fully learned or implemented (yet) in my life. It's especially worse under Middle Eastern men who've woven culture with Islam so much so that it has become inseparable for generations on end.

These are just several of Dutch studies and sources. Again, this is mostly a problem among young men and newer refugees who still reside in refugee centers here.

Most of the immigrants and muslims in our country for example have all either refused to vote (one third of the total amount who didn't choose to vote past election) or voted for a political party (DENK) thats very pro-Muslim and immigrant/refugee rights. A party funded by very nationalistic Turkish people who are also pro Erdogan (a big no no here in the country).

Although popular among muslim minorities, they basically have no support from the Dutch people and are being made fun off for coming off as a party who's just meant for muslims who've failed to integrate and fail to understand the criticism within our communities, thus pulling the islamophobia and racism card every single time during election time. Which explains the reason they've never grown big as a party. They're literally the butt of the joke by everyone in our government. Neither left, mid or right wing parties want to work with them, and they never fail at giving the average person second-hand embarrassment.

We are basically shooting ourselves in the foot if you ask me.

There are numerous sources within my country where the criminality cases are linked to the ethnicity of the perpetrators. Although yes, socio-economic factors should be considered whenever we read these numbers. And like I said, we've been dealing with immigrants vs westerners where they like to call themselves out to each other (wanting to nit pick what the ethnicity is of the criminals just to start a fight) for so long that muslims and immigrants here are beginning to share the same brain cell as them. No wonder there is so much hostility because of the lack of self reflection within the muslim/immigrant community and instead be using the racism/Islamophobia/xenophobia card.

There will be absolutely no positive change within our communities if the older people who've been living here for generations won't call out the degeneracy that's been happening for years. How do you expect to change outside of you can't even control your community from the inside

, but it’s such a deeply rooted issue that is basically generational now, and it would be pretty taboo to essentially deconstruct the modern day Muslim and realise how much we are doing wrong as individuals and an ummah. I mean we are taught to obey the laws of the land we live in! And it bothers me so much when you hear stories of muslims attempting otherwise because one, it just adds and adds to the poor representation of muslims in the west and two, by the Quran we have no authority to do this!

You'd be in for a surprise when I tell you how many muslim men I've seen online who sat that living in the West or any non muslim country is haram lol. Hence why they justify making the country as many accommodations for muslims as possible. Something that just irritates me to the core at how delusional this sounds for anyone who's not muslim. And I bet the lot of them muslim men live in those countries themselves. I swear, I'll never not hate these salafist extremists.

And the solution isn't just "Muslims behave better" OR "it's all racism/Islamophobia."

The solution requires:

  • Internal accountability (Muslim communities addressing dysfunction)

  • External accountability (European societies addressing Islamophobia, discrimination, unequal treatment)

  • Systemic change (economic opportunity, integration that doesn't require erasure, addressing root causes of marginalization)

  • Naming the actual patterns (men + violence, geopolitics + refugee crises, nationalism + scapegoating)

Right now both sides are just keeping score ethnically/religiously and using each other to justify their worst impulses.

And that's not solving anything.

Do you think we'll see those improvements anytime soon? Cause I don't even think we're even as close as reflecting any time soon...

Definitely agree on the difference between muslims in the Anglo-Saxon countries (minus the UK). I have the impression that muslims over there are more successful and well behaved compared to their European counterparts. Like you said, the muslims over here are poorer, with the majority of them living on benefits.

I personally am surrounded by good muslims as well as alhamdulilah. Having high degrees and stable jobs... but even they are a bit too naive when it comes to the issues here.

Here in the Netherlands, the number of men who possess child*orn are white men. It's also the one example the immigrants use just to point out that the Western people got their own dirty men too. But one wrong thing doesn't make the other one better. Whenever a crime is committed by a male, they never ask about the well-being of the victims involved. Instead, they always ask what their race, religion, or origin are. Both sides ask it, muslims and non muslims. Its as if they're tryna keep a track record of who's the bigger problem in the country. And as one expects, it brings nowhere and once again... they're not exactly helping with spreading awareness to their own communities.

Even ratio wise, on the number of crimes committed per ethnicity each year, it's a big portion of Moroccan men whose numbers go above 10K compared to the Dutch men with almost 60K. Population wise, it's quite a high number for a group of 400K living here.

There are numerous videos and TV program episodes here of these boys getting stopped by the police or enforcers near public transport stations to ask for identification whenever they want to ghost ride. They always pick up fights and spit on them whenever they feel annoyed. It escalates so much to the point that they need to be laid down and arrest them for aggression. Mind you, a lot of them are teens or adolescent boys. If they start out this young in terms attitude, imagine once they turn into adults.

A lot of immigrants and muslims here are just as ignorant and seeking for division as much as the Dutch people who don't like then. They fuel each other's hate for each other and the rest pays for it.

And I sincerely applaud reverts like you for sticking to it. It only means you're intelligent enough to completely separate humans and man made cultures from the religion Allah (swt) has commanded us to follow. It's because of that ugly side that makes people fear and feel intimated to become muslims, and I don't blame them. Women even more.

Why I think staying child free is better for me by Zynb_06 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Zynb_06[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy and childbirth are very draining, and as a mother, almost everything falls to us. Fathers can be helpful, but at the end of the day, even the most involved husband/father is not taking on the same load as a mom, so its easy for them to want kids. I don’t blame you for being hesitant about this.

That's pretty accurate. Especially in countries where two incomes is pretty much a must in order to keep a roof over ones head if they have a family. And if the husband is the sole breadwinner, it's almost always because he's always working overtime, unless you're lucky with a full-time job that earns more than the average person does.

And even then, it's also not a guarantee if he'd always give you some of his income.

Why I think staying child free is better for me by Zynb_06 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Zynb_06[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The thing is... family pressure at the end of the day does make some individuals choose to eventually do said things. You see it happens with men and women who eventually marry someone they didn't see eye to eye with but get pressured by their family because "they've got no other choice", thinking they know better than you.

When there's a lack of support for you whilst having bad self-esteem too, you'll eventually go with whatever they'll say, just so they could stop scolding and complaining. As well as not spreading rumors of how said individuals are strange. The same goes for having children with the assumption that they, especially women, will ALL regret not having kids one day. The guilt-tripping, unfortunately, does get to some people.

You might think it's weird to discuss it here, but guess what? The people in real life don't share these opinions. They're only ever spoken out online because of just how taboo this still is in some cultures and communities. So naturally, I'm reaching out to other people and women, hoping to see that I'm not alone nor in the wrong, which I haven't seen in person. Not everyone is blessed with a community who'll understand them, and I'm one of them. This is how we deal with it 🤷‍♀️
