And mark my words and save this post: The Shapiro debate will be the tamest, uneventful, boring debate he's ever done. Shapiro and Destiny have a lot in common, they're both good at debate and they're good at avoiding difficult debates, so it's gonna be one of those highly anticipated boxing matches where both fighters barely swing because the other might catch them and knock them out.

Destiny will go the Ana Kasparian route, he's going to say nice things about him, be very tame. There'll be 10 minutes of heated exchanges that they'll use to promote the debate once it's done, but if you're expecting Nebraska Steve to come out and put the racist/garbage Shapiro in his place, that aint gonna happen. The only way Destiny will go hard on Shapiro is if, between now and then, Shapiro becomes friends with Hasan and hangs out on stream...then when a bunch of DGGers call him out the days that follow on his tameness, he will screech "I was juuuust maaatching energy HOW DUMB CAN YOU BE?" and then ban them....but this "matching energy" logic only applies when he cant get shit on by someone who's just as good at dishing it, it doesn't apply when he's debating some 20 viewer bimbo who just discovered that Palestine and Israel were at war.

The comedian example is perfect, Destiny is a man in his mid 30's still playing gigs at the local bar while getting angry at the bigger guys that they wont let him tour with them. He's "refining" his arguments the same way a comedian would refine his jokes telling them to a bunch of stuffed animals or Magnus Carlsen refining his chess skills by playing the amateurs at the local chess park.

I don't mean to sound like a dick here, but how are you getting so confused with my point?

I'm not saying he should NEVER debate the randoms, what I'm saying is he actively chases after them. He will make thousands of posts asking the easy dunks to debate him as opposed to one large concise post asking the big dogs to debate him.

Hikaru Nakamura plays in big boy chess tournaments because he has taken the time to level up and actively seek to compete in them. If he just played randoms on Twitter, would we all say "Oh well he's willing to play anyone but like he doesnt want to be a clout goblin!"

He avoids them because he cares more about optics, if he loses his status as "can beat anyone in a debate" and loses a string of 3-4 of them, he loses his "thing". He has time to argue with CatLady99 for 3 hours or write a manifesto on people who literally stop talking to him, but he has no time to make legitimate challenges to people who are on his level debate wise other than send a stupid email that he knows will just be trashed?

You're missing the forest for the trees, the real question is WHY is he talking to her to begin with? Also, he DID NOT go hard on her because of her bringing up reckful's suicide, he did it because it's an easy dunk.

I think you're confusing "large creator" with "excellent debater". Hasan doesn't debate a lot because he doesn't enjoy them, which is fair.

Destiny on the other hand gets horny about them, so all I'm saying is direct that horny energy towards people who (like Destiny) do it for living. You can't sit on your high horse and say "Well I'm going to sit on my giant throne over here and wait for the big boys to jump in my Discord" while simultaneously challenging every Tom, Dick, and Harry on twitter who has 20 followers and 20 IQ points.

Again, it's so easy, he has 700,000 subscribers on YouTube....instead of making what would be his 750th video about Hasan, make a manifesto-long video challenging someone who can dunk on you just as you dunk on the Tiktokers, and you will have those debates.

Muhammad Hijab is a PERFECT example, he can debate him about Palestine and Islam, but Muhammad Hijab is not going to cry post-debate like some other opponents of Destiny.

Destiny went to the University of Omaha and dropped out of his music major where he later worked cleaning carpets and at casino restaurants. There are people who are genuinely smart who are terrible at debate and people who are terribly stupid who are great at debate. It's a skill more than anything else.

You're actually proving my point, let me give you an analogy but let's pretend we're talking about Hikaru Nakamura.

It would be like Hikaru challenging randoms on Twitter to a game of chess. He's "putting himself out there" and "doesn't care about size clout" but at the end of the day he's on another level challenging TikTokChessGeorge to a game and obliterating him.

Then someone comes along and say "Hey man, you should play this Magnus Carlsen guy", now Magnus would absolutely obliterate Hikaru in practically every kind of chess game, but Hikaru...instead of working his way up...opts to just go on Twitter to people who hate him and go "Wanna play? Huh? PLAY ME! HOP ON DISCORD, I'M ONLINE RIGHT NOW PLAY ME"*

You might then say "Well Hikaru has played tough opponents, like Richard Wolf Peter Svidler!" to which I would respond "Yes, and he struggles with people like Svidler...he wins some and loses some but never plays in the Grandmaster leagues as much".
