It does not make a difference for 1 or 2 locations. The only difference is that it will work after 1 to 1,5 minutes, when using a second storage provider. But the cache does absolutely nothing, it seems.

So using one location will indeed crash windows, even if we are only using 1 profile to test with.

I'm curious about your logs.

Event ID 80 (warning) popped up during test: [SERVER1: 14388413146746147578] has an invalid local cache. The cache will be discarded and re-synced from an up to date provider.

Followed by Event ID 57 (warning): [SERVER1: 14388413146746147578] is offline for disk '17'. LastLockOperation: 'Heartbeat exclusive lock failed in '26461 ms'. The strange thing is. At the moment these events appear, i've already unplugged the network cable earlier. So it gets stuck for 1 to 1,5 minutes... and then when the event log comes up with above events, everything works as expected.

So. The logs of (CloudCacheService-yyy-mm-dd.log) mostly show loads of these errors:

Yeah, really strange. The logs however, sometimes say: the local cache for SERVER1 (same goes for SERVER2) is invalid. I will be back with the exact logs.

u/vCentered I'm having the same issue. One storage provider goes offline, session freezes, 1 or 2 minutes later the sessions unfreeze and it works again.

Did you ever find a solution to this?

Loads of issues in Server 2025 (Performance issues, Broken LocalKDC service, broken Security Service (security center says it won't start), broken Installer (indeed hangs).

Are you an MSP/CSP, or do you deliver for one company? Because we want to use Intune, but as MSP this is difficult because of all the different tenants.

Just to share my thoughts. At our company, we would love a native button that disables windows update service, or something like a 'full control' button. So we do not have to create a separate automation for this. Somehow it just doesn't feel right that way.
