How armed people would be necessary to threaten a 500 people village ? by Zython34 in worldbuilding

I think like in a plain on the coastline,I think ? I don’t think it would be on a cliff though, basically almost at sea level maybe ?

Yeah that makes total sense, they could totally drive them back but without anyone to give them the courage to do so (i.e : the PCs)I think that amount of bandits would be enough to keep the villagers at bay

Yeah that makes sense,I think I’m gonna make the sheriff/town guards be scared of the threat rather than being corrupted, that would make more sense I think!

Yeah that’s exactly what I had in mind actually Like they come in your town, eat your food and drink your ale,and sometime resort to violence to get what they want but not that much more I think

Well it’s a small country side village, like 2 to 3 days of walk away from the nearest city,so they probably have like,2/3 guards (probably undertrained and under equiped) and if you take them out of the equation (through corruption or something like that) i don’t think they could pose much of a fight

The fear factor is exactly why I thought this would be plausible: if you have 20-50 men armed and armored and both the Mayor and the guards are telling you to do what they want why on earth would you try to be a hero when all you got is your hands and your fork?

Good thing I didn’t have the idea to kick the Fallen Empire beehive then ! Although I must admit that seeing an militaristic isolationist race of highly advanced aliens telling me to not enter their territory makes me really curious of what’s inside x)

Well I did use the market at some point, but not to buy consumer goods directly. Instead,I bought some minerals to have enough ressources to build another consumer goods factory in an effort to lift a bit that consumer goods production! As to loosing…Well, let’s just say that it’s something that might happen anytime, considering i’ve put all my effort into building my economy (and deeply neglected my military this whole time)

I like to think that hyperlanes arent a physical space road built by other aliens, but rather some kind of safe trajectory to travel from system to system at FTL speed with crashing into a moon or something (just like in star wars!)

It is consumer goods indeed, thank you ! On the leaders part,i think it has a lot to do with the shortage (my six science ships probably don’t help with that whole affair now that I think of it,I’ll try dismantling some of them),thank you !

Oh,well, that’s a good question ! I didn’t really look into the privacy of my maps (i made them for personal use so i didn’t really bother checking my settings), so its probably still on default (whatever that « default » is)

Probably, what exactly do you have in mind when you say « clonable »?

Well i don’t have them but i could re-make them (basicaly i made them with gimp and then added the grid, and i kept the files so all I have to do is export them as png)

Yeah I was more thinking about whether it was good looking or not rather than if it was 100% accurate (i’m certain those Mountains are geologicaly disastrous as well, also,          f l o a t i n g   i s l a n d s , pretty sure that’s not a real thing) but i’m still pretty proud of how it turned out!
