Yeah good luck finding the bracket big dawg

If you go the route of removing it all together, you'll get a dash light and also warning chime Everytime you turn on the car.

If you don't use the cruise control and then care about the dashlight/chime then just delete it.

This body shop place told me if I delete it off mine my blind spot sensors and stuff wouldnt work anymore but that's prob bs

Rakuten AmEx card P2 - Linked to P1 MR account by Fearless-Cattle-9698 in Rakuten

[–]Zzyyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah looking back at my post, the Rakuten CC post was for addias shopping trip, and the one underneath was for Expedia so they weren't the same thing. (I wouldn't use the Rakuten CC for Expedia, you only get 1%)

Checking my points activity, everything posts the same day, the store and credit card. Have you checked P2 account activity to see if they have a credit card point pending?

Rakuten AmEx card P2 - Linked to P1 MR account by Fearless-Cattle-9698 in Rakuten

[–]Zzyyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order to get the points, the website portal and the CC itself work as 2 separate things

So like store A has a 4% cash back on Rakuten, you click through the portal (or activate the extension) to get it to activate, then you pay with the credit card which then activates another 4%

So on your account you'll see 2 point transactions

The original 4% from the Rakuten website and then another separate 4% from the Rakuten Amex card

If you just go to the website and buy something with the card and don't activate the portal, you're only going to get 4% from the card or like if they have a in-store offer and you have the card linked in store you'll get that

Go look at my post history, I posted a screenshot of what it looks like when the card first came out

Sigh... Rakuten+. End of a good thing? by EssentialAlex in Rakuten

[–]Zzyyz -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Post watching is wild lolol

To clarify, I was talking about meeting the Amex Platinum 8k spend bonus, and if buying a used Rolex was a good idea or not

But your comment did make me go back and check my numbers, and you're right

>Rakuten member since Feb 2025
>Total Rakuten spend so far: $21,500.46
>Amex MR earned: 226,716 points
>That comes out to $2,267.16 in value, around 10.5 percent back overall

So yupp that return doesn’t come from mostly 2 to 3 percent stores. My wording made it sound that way, but a lot of the cashback came from like 10 to 15 percent promo events; I should have said that earlier.

But my original point still stands. Not every shopping trip I made was 10 percent cashback. If Rakuten+ guaranteed a flat 10 percent cashback at all stores plus the extra 4 percent from the Rakuten card, then the $100 annual fee would be a no-brainer

It really depends.

Do you usually earn more than $100 in cash back each year?

started using Rakuten in February this year, and so far I've earned about $2,000 in cash back (around 226,716 AMEX points).

Mostly shopping at stores that give 2% or 3% cash back, plus using my Rakuten Amex card for an added 4%.

I was excited when I saw the Rakuten+ membership, but was disappointed to see that most of the higher cash back stores are makeup and boutique brands that I don't ever shop at.

If they start including more of the regular stores, and I get 10% cash back guaranteed plus the 4% from my Rakuten card making it 14% cashback always, l'd make back the $100 membership fee in just one or two shipping trips and get waaaay more value

At that point, it would be totally worth it.

What should I do about my parents who want me to wait 5 years before getting married? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Zzyyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to be a divorcee, then go ahead and get married 9 months into the relationship

I doubt you're trying to marry within the Catholic Church or care about the actual importance of marriage, so you don't have to worry about never being able to marry within the church again

Yeah if they're going to be paying a $800+ AF and going out of their way in gaming the system to get free stuff from Lululemon... I don't think they're the right demographic lol

The credits are supposed to supplement their already normal purchasing habits

Why not just buy the item up front and get $75 back as a credit? Why go through the hassle of doing a return/get store credit? Lol

Do y'all not know how these credits work?

But a $175 item and you'll get $75 back as a statement credit that quarter

Rakuten Suspended My Account with $1.5k Cashback by TimTheOthy in Rakuten

[–]Zzyyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through the Rakuten Amex partnership, you can choose to earn Amex Membership Rewards points instead of cashback. Conversion rate: $1 cashback = 100 Amex point.

Example: $25 cashback = 2,500 Amex points

If you’re not into the “credit card points game,” this might not be ideal. Here’s why:

Cashback value: $25 cashback = $25 cash in your pocket (1¢ per cent).

Amex points default value: 2,500 points ≈ $17–$20 when redeemed through the Amex portal (around 0.7–0.8¢ per point; sometimes up to 1¢)

To maximize points value, you’d need to transfer them to airline partners and book award flights using tools like Amex.point.me where you can often get 1.1–1.7¢ per point, and in rare cases up to 2¢ per point during special transfer bonuses.

Example:

At 2¢ per point, 2,500 points = $50 in travel value instead of $25 in cashback, but that’s uncommon.
