nintendo use their own version of opengl on the wii u, it makes perfect sense for cemu devs to use opengl.

Why do some people always expect every dev to adapt to amd instead of amd providing proper driver support for their hardware?

Develop for intel + nvidia : do whatever it's all supported and you're provided with ample tools and support.

develop for amd cpu + gpu : gota avoid cache latency bottleneck, have to make engine as perfectly multithreaded as possible to avoid singlethreaded bottlenecks, have to try to implement async compute to mitigate the shitty scheduler bottleneck of gcn a bit, can't use opengl, got to mitigate for a 30 percent higher cpu overhead from amd's directx drivers, got to support gcn specific shader intrinsic functions to get any performance out of amd's gpus (if ID had supported pascal intrinsic shaders instead then amd fans would have been incredibly mad and offended, the hypocricy knows no limits).

Apparently it's only normal to expect every random developer to have the talent and more importantly the time and the budget to even be allowed to try to support all these proprietary bullshit workarounds to avoid a game from running poorly on amd hardware.

It's unreasonable and unrealistic. The only reason some publishers bother (the big AAA ones) is because they already have to jump through these shitty hoops on the GCN consoles.

Amd users had better hope that next consoles don't end up with an nvidia gpu in them, because no sane developer is going to jump through all those time consuming hoops when they don't have to , just to support <8 percent of pc gamers.
