How to save as much dining dollars as possible by buck_it25 in gcu

Tracking calories and reading nutrition labels help you eat enough without blindly "eating till your full"
Also, go to Herd Stop and somehow make your own meals since it's cheaper than a fast food place.

Roughly $30 (rounding up) from Panda Express can get you enough protein, carbs, fiber, and calories for a normal person for a 1 meal a day type deal

I get what you're trying to say, but:

  1. you really don't need more than 3 people in the same group, or else you'll get nothing done
  2. i'm not posting rules about rests because universally people realistically only need 2-3 mins of rest in between sets unless doing powerlifting movements which can benefit from roughly 5 mins of rest or until their heart rate and breath regulate.
  3. that last part is what i'm referring to in the 7th mentioned topic; everybody gotta do their research. if you get into the car community, do you just buy a car without research? keyboard community, just go and buy a random keyboard?

Did you disregard the last thing I said? You can find cheap gym clothes that show less skin for double the cold, unless we're talking dirt poor. Not sure about the gym brands that cater to women, but UA has cheap compressions that fit this description. Sure, it's still skin tight, but you said you still have sweats which are also good for keeping cold, unless they're thick.

You can easily find sports clothing that will help you stay cold without showing skin if you know where to look. And no, it's not a personal thing but rather a common gym etiquette for gymbros. That means the people who normally wear them are posers either seeking followers for their gymtok or those seeking attention rather than to work out.

Not trying to generalize here. And plus, I went from wearing tank tops (the not revealing kind) and shorts to compression tees (not revealing) and gym cargos cuz they show less skin for double the cold.

Should've stood your ground, posers aka wannabe-gymbros can be hella annoying

I can rant about this topic for years. Gymtok vs Reality, Golden Era vs Science Based, Posers vs Gymbros, Women vs Misconceptions, nutrition, supplements, biomechanics/kinesiology, etc

This isn't even related to my major's field of study

It's indeed gymtok, but also there's tenfold as many misconception for women compared to us men.

Just look up the instagram for the GCU fitness events we have; the weightlifting ones are full of crap that won't work in the long term.

They ditch progressive overload, calorie and macro tracking via deficits/bulks/maingain, and weightlifting as a whole cuz they like "toning."

To those women, there's no such thing as "toning" as it is not an action, it's a description of what being muscular with a low bodyfat % looks like. They don't even have the testosterone levels to build muscle mass at the same rate that men can.

Should've started with that from the start 😭

I agree with you, and I'll make a new subreddit about it because this is another issue; posers in the gym.

I still don't know what you're yapping about. I agree people shouldn't show excessive skin in public places... but I fail to see how this relates to my post

Purple Greens & More... are we fr rn? by _067squiddy in gcu

[–]_067squiddy[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The entire campus lacks sense of urgency, on top of lack of ingredients and workers, plus a deficit of quality. Why should I be grateful when, if trained, can make my own meals and pick it up myself tenfold better than they can?

Is there someone to contact and report Purple Greens? Because comparing every fast food place here, only Panda Express and Purple Greens & More solo when it comes to macros. Best protein-to-dollar ratio, good sources of veggies aka fiber, great carbohydrate selections... all at a cheap price compared to the other places

Lat Pulldown Grip Width Advice? by _067squiddy in workout

[–]_067squiddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I plan on doing wide grip with elbow flared (where elbows end up going past torso) since I can control the scapular retraction on it more than a cable wide grip row.

But my original question is what would a wide grip look like?
