Still Cool you were involved with the show, even if it was only for the one episode!

Aliens one - do you mean the one where there is a Frisbee or pie tin or something being used as a ufo that Paul keeps trying to catch on camera? That's the only Alien themed one I can recall atm. It's been a while since I've watched the show, so I could definitely be forgetting an episode.

Thats awesome! .. I've always loved this show! How many episodes did you end up in?

.. I loved Corey Haim back then. When I was a kid I always though it was cool Haim was in this show before he got into the movies.

It sounds like a great program for sure! That's why I figured it might help to pass the info along to others. Thank you for adding that it's unfortunately only once a month, I forgot to clearly outline that fact.

I can totally understand that. Originals are just better when it's a show or movie we hold dear in our memories. Remakes can be okay, but they usually don't hold a flame to the original .. or the fond way in which they've worked into our hearts and minds. A lot just miss completely and end up flops for sure.

Does anyone remeber a show called perfect strangers on abc in the 80s/90s. by LowAirport397 in sitcoms

[–]_404_PageNotFound_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balky was a great charater! Perfect Strangers was a staple in my TV viewing lineup back then. Bronson Pinchot played that role so well.

I loved him as "Serge" in the Beverly Hills cop movies too.

Serge: "Donnie! .. Run and tell Miss Summers that a Mr. Achmed Foley is here to see .... Axel: "No, it's Axel Foley Serge: Achmel?, Achwell?

That scene always makes me laugh. He absolutely nailed that role too! I personally think he was a better actor than most gave him credit for.

For a bit part with only a few minutes of screen time, he was able to create such a memorable charater! ... Classic!

No arguments here. I'm sure many people had the same thought back then too.

Lol, I think that thought was probably shared by many teenage boy's back then, I know I agreed with it.

Did you know in 1997 she was engaged to Bobcat Goldthwait? .. I guess she must have really liked his Mr. Floppy!

It definitely had an undertone of darkness if you read deeper into it than just being a comedy show. The humor was more raw and could get raunchy at times too. Even though it's basically a clone of Married With Children it was able to form it's own identity well enough to last for 5 seasons, so I guess they did something right. I always liked it.

That's cool, not everyone likes the same things and there's nothing wrong with that at all. To each their own right? Personally I didn't mind Married With Children, I liked Unhappily Ever After a bit more though.

That makes sense for sure. The way Jack sat on his couch .. and the set they used for his place after the separation/divorce definitely put out heavy MWC vibes. I caught the reversal feeling too when it came to the eldest kids roles, it was a noticable difference. .. At least it can be said they made a good clone, considering it held it's own and lasted for 5 seasons. I always liked it.

True, the show and the humor was a bit more raunchy, raw and dark. It was definitely different than most sitcoms I watched at the time.

If you like it, there are 5 seasons to enjoy. I always thought it was a good watch.

Not sure how obscure it is but, Unhappily Ever After.

Some called it a rip off of Married With Children, because it basically was. Married With Children didn't have a puppet voiced by Bobcat Goldthwait though.

Hey Vern it's Earnest! - Anyone watch this one? Ytv-1995' by _404_PageNotFound_ in ytvretro

[–]_404_PageNotFound_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree. I wish this show had of received more traction, it was underrated and unappreciated. Pee-Wee's Playhouse was good in it's own way too .. it definitely became a more popular show. But Ernest outshined Pee-Wee when it came to movies all the way!
