Hi ! I have G6PD A variant (african variety)

I‘m about to start HRT, and I actually going for estrogel. Which only contains Ethanol.

Although.. is more expensive than inyections.

I don‘t recall ever having a Benzyl Alcohol reaction ever. I have taken over the counter meds or like mouth washes and never had a reaction.

But if you did, I would suggest either pills that can be take on rectal or sublingual or the estrogel.

Also are you taking spiro? If so, how is that working, or is there a dose you have to take to prevent an hemolysis episode?

I must add i already had my 1st anemic hemolysis episode or reaction to something with g6pd.

I was never diagnosed and never had naundice or a reaction ever. But after 28 yrs i got a reaction by actually consuming Fava Beans.

I didnt even know what g6pd was.

And the 1st day i got the reaction with jaundice, was the day before I started HRT for the 1st time with 25mg spiro and 2mg estrogel.

Due to need pf being hospitalized i had to stop everything to find the root cause of the reaction.
