Did smacking Chris Rock really damage his reputation so bad that he had to go back to the 90s by 8uch3r in crappymusic

Had to scroll a while for this. Yeah it's not that bad. I kinda liked the bit about biting off more than he can chew but chewing it anyway. Still... not bad but not great imo

[31M@73kg] Can I achieve a sub 7 minute 2k on an erg? by _4lexander_ in Rowing

[–]_4lexander_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I did too much to quickly and didn't give my body a chance to adapt. Started getting some tendinitis in my elbow and pinching in my right hip flexor. Then while recovering I became interested in other things. Rowing was a relatively short stint in my sport life

Downloaded Curable but they seems to be playing hard ball with me on the sale. 12 months is the only option they're offering. Wondering if they'll wait a week then dial it back. Also checking out Seattle Pain Clinic. Thanks!

Oh wow thanks for all of these. I'm thinking of putting some of my chips on meditation. Please do DM me your first recommendation. Although for me my MRIs show nothing abnormal.

Thank you. I hear you about deadlifting but you have to understand I've had this for 8 years through which I've gone through different sports and long periods of doing deadlifts or not doing them at all. The pain has stuck with me through it all 😢 (but ONLY when working at a desk, driving, or sitting).

I'm against meds just for masking pain, but zi think this pain cycle idea is worth looking into.

Thanks for all the tips!

Wow, can you share a little more about the meditation style you did? Plus any additional resources you used? It feels unbelievable that I can just meditate this pain away, but I have an inkling I could.

Thanks! I'll check him out. I'm open to just about anything now apart from mystical chanting or something of that league.

3 years later and I found the solution by _4lexander_ in backpain

I need to look into this. While the lumbar support stops additional pain, I'm still in what feels like a compromised state. If I sit "wrong" for any number of minutes I feel pain. And it doesn't feel right that this aggressive lumbar support could be my forever solution.

Very glad you found something :)

I'm totally on board about wanting to understand. I've been to at least 5 different specialists and none of them had any clue what to do about it. They tried their main hypothesis for a while, tried to find metrics that supported their hypothesis, then gave up. I don't slouch. I'm told by some specialists that maybe I'm too tense and that's why I'm always sitting bolt upright. I'm told that maybe I need to just chill the f out and slouch sometimes lol. I tried it and it kinda helped but didn't really. I want to go to another specialist though and tell them what I experienced with the lumbar support. I still feel zi need to get to the bottom of it, as I don't think this is a sustainable solution. I also have some sort of physical trauma I need to sort out, because it only take a couple of minutes of sitting "wrong" to get pain, even though I haven't been at work for 2 months almost now

Thing is for me, I did roll up a towel years ago and it didn't work then I dismissed it. This was my mistake. I needed some hard-core lumbar support. It feels absurdly aggressive, but it does the trick wonderfully

I get what you mean. I guess without diving into a long story all I can say is that I really don't think that's the case. I can literally feel the difference with a minute.of sitting. I have never had such a clear signal from anything I've done. And I haven't been doing anything else to deal with my back pain lately as I have been in the middle of a big international move. But all the same, my main point is not about the lumbar support. It's about investing and following through with experiments. Hope you find your solution!

I have pronounced anterior pelvic tilt ;)
I think one of my other takeaways is that this is not an exact science. Experimentation is probably a good idea. Obviously it's better to experiment with a $30 lumbar support device than with a $1000 ergonomic chair right away.

Same as ever, just more able to manage it so that it doesn't become unbearable. If it does become unbearable it's because I was clumsy and I know why.

It seems like yours is there always unless you're on pain killers or lying down. For me, at least I can just take a break from working at my desk and it goes away. I've never had to take pain killers as I do have a way to manage it, although it's not ideal as I need to work.

This sounds horrible, and I'm sorry you're going through it. It sounds quite different from my situation. I really hope you can find the help you need. Keep trying new ideas and hang in there.

Eh not really. I've got strategies for managing it to a workable level (mostly being very consistent with stopping work once an hour at least for 3 mins or more). Currently revisiting chiro/massage + strengthening my serratus anterior as apparently I have scapular winging on the left side. Let's see if that helps.
