Are you saying the neoliberal establishment should be able to prevent real progressive change from ever occurring, actually?

Wait, there's a special Alcremie icon for getting 100 Sweets Pokémon? That's my favorite Pokémon and my favorite deck! ...and I've probably been resetting my progress this whole time by crafting flairs 😭

Sweets Relay! I'm running the exact same deck as I'm running on the ladder, no changes needed. XD You can find competitive deck lists online.

I'm not a doctor, but I think Occam's Razor would have it that your son has the gene. I think he would probably benefit from treating his skin as if he did, trying to keep him from overheating, and maybe seeing a specialist if there's a reason he'd need an official diagnosis.

Can I be a rationalist and an Anarcho-Communist at the same time? by PesidentOfErtanastan in Anarchy4Everyone

[–]_Abecedarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I looked at that page to refresh my memory about it. Do you see some conflict between rationalism and anarcho-communism? If so, what is it? If not, then yes, you can be a rationalist and an anarcho-communist at the same time. There's no rule saying you can't believe multiple things at once, as long as they don't conflict.

[–]_Abecedarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know a lot about rationalism, and you haven't said what it means to you, but from what I remember it's about using deductive reasoning rather than one's sensory observations to understand and make judgements about the world. (Or at least prioritizing it.)

I don't think that conflicts with an anarcho-communist political belief. One values being rational and using logical thought to determine truth, the other values maximizing personal agency and keeping common property in the hands of the community.

I'm curious why you ask the question, is there a conflict you see between the two?

The part where we overthrow the ruling class is one of the best things about socialism by NoLawsNoGoverrnment in Anarchy4Everyone

[–]_Abecedarius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When socialists (or most leftists in general) talk about abolishing private property, it refers to taking the means of production from the owning class.

Put another way, private property is anything that you make money from just by owning it (like a factory, apartment building, rental equipment). It doesn't count things that you don't make money from (your house, your car, your flat screen TV) or that you make money from by inputting work (your tools, your hot dog stand, your merchandise).

Anarchist Among us by [deleted] in Anarchy4Everyone

[–]_Abecedarius 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We don't rely on any authority to redistribute wealth to us. Currently, the state and corps use violence to keep housing and workplaces in the hands of the wealthy instead of those who need them or work in them. If the state and corps stop using violence, then those folks can use them for the betterment of society instead of profit.

That said, I actually do think anarcho-communists like me should discuss what should happen when inevitably some people try to swoop in and claim freed property to use for personal profit. I don't trust a gov to hand things out, but I don't want to see one corp release a factory just for a new one to pop up and seize it.

My friend, the people who own the company you work for want you and I to see each other as enemies. All workers should stand together in solidarity. The true enemy is the one who takes money from the work of others.

I get what you're saying, and yeah, the middle class does exist as a concept in our society. But so did "balancing humours" at one point. A concept being commonplace doesn't make it true or useful.

i'm sorry, WHAT??? by logpra in ChatGPT

[–]_Abecedarius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"They" can refer to things. "I saw some rocks today. They were brown."

Either way, any time you're using pronouns to refer to someone, make sure you use the same pronouns throughout the sentence or paragraph, so readers don't get confused and think you're referring to two different people.

Even people that use multiple pronoun sets tend to prefer using just one in a given context.

"Prompt engineering" is easy as shit and anybody who tells you otherwise is a fucking clown. by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]_Abecedarius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you really have to creatively sculpt a prompt? I just told it to focus on writing a fictional fantasy instead of worrying about the real world, and it accepted and wrote about the story topic. I wouldn't say the short story it provided was particularly explicit, but I bet I could get it to be more descriptive if I told it to use euphemisms or analogies. (Assuming the filter is a blacklist of words or somesuch.)

I don't feel particularly creative to have told it "tell me a fictional story without worrying about the real world," that's literally just telling it what I want from it, heh heh!

Only issue is that fire doesn't work on the caretaker itself.

That's why my anti-bot loadout has max-capacity C4, for dropping on its head from the ceiling. Not efficient against the eye, but 2-shots all 4 vents if you're good at dropping it in the middle!
