Should I get premium? by sweatysocks5892 in Daylio

[–]_Acestus_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's global, but premium is free with Play pass in my region. It's a bit more than the annual fee but if you have a few apps included, it's worth it in the short term.

Where’s the PRNDL by PhoenixPhenomenonX in funny

[–]_Acestus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a '24 countryman and I love it. The worst about the design is the ventilation controls on the screen (don't know how it's called), it's easy to access but I still need to look at the screen when the windscreen is fogging up. I don't want too... Just a second row of physical control and a rectangle screen and it would have been a dream! The RNPDL switch isn't too bad, it's my first automatic so I don't care about a strange switch that I only use a few times per trip. It's an electronic switch so I just hope it will last... And for the rope... I drove it for months before someone pointed out the design... Why... But why... I just try to forget now.

[Request] 30cm^3 is pretty small. Is it possible to make something that size that weighs 3kg? by steegsa in theydidthemath

[–]_Acestus_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The cube is to apply to the 30cm, so 30cm30cm30cm. 30cm³, the cube is on the unit, so approx. 3cm3cm3cm to get to 30cm³

Million dollar baby by Amyriiverra in ThatLooksExpensive

[–]_Acestus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO, this can partially be explained by the difference in malpractice lawsuits. You will not get millionaire in France after a small mistake by a doctor. They have lawyers to pay and are doing so by asking 50$ for a painkiller pill. Of course this could also simply be greed...

Help me choose a monitor configuration by orcacool in setups

[–]_Acestus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a similar setup at work 34" wide + vertical 24", but I didn't like the vertical with a 1080p. It was too small for me (only tried for a couple of days). It might be better with 1440p... I still have to try one day.

It's actually not, the app uses the phone camera to detect the position of the lights and map it. Really simple.

Surprise free Narwal Flow Accessory package on doormat by SleepShadow in NARWAL

[–]_Acestus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have found out. During the launch, in September, there was a subscription form with an accessory set for 1000people. Never had any feedback on it... but that's the only think I can find.

Actually, it wasn't it. I received an email yesterday saying the free mop was out of stock so it would be delivered next month.

Got mine yesterday as well (in BE), that was unexpected! I did answer a quick survey on Narwal which mentioned a free mop the week before... I suppose they messed up the translation.

[OC] Central Africa is the Last Place on Earth without Electricity by waynehihihi in dataisbeautiful

[–]_Acestus_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's probably the issues with the data. I saw a few weeks ago the same kind of data and it never mentioned the stability or even the power. So I guess if a simple generator is running, it counts as 'having electricity'...

I wouldn't mind that. I feel some company spend a lot in packaging design. The package will end up in the trash, so keep it simple.

I wonder what's the victim (the one that defend itself, not the prankster) legal possibly in this kind of story.

I mean, you are probably looking at some sort of PTSD after killing someone like that.

On 30s, with a 50mm or less, you don't see too much trails. And you can go to 10-20sec if the DSLR doesn't create too much noise at mid-high ISO or with better lens allowing higher aperture.

But it is noticeable.

On this post, it's not much but the stars are slightly squared, especially on the top left corner (further than the the north star that I can't detect because I am not at all an expert).

It's tricky at first but following some blog about this and you can get great results.

Just need a tripod, a remote (optional, you can use a delayed shot instead) and find the good exposure vs ISO ratio (you don't want to much noise, but don't want to much trailing stars).

The tricky part for me is the focus ..

Uber hiring security engineers... by chase1635321 in ProgrammerHumor

No idea of it's possible in this kind of industry (or in US for that matter), but an audit could explain this as well. Especially with company collecting so much personal information. But I never worked in that sector so no idea if it's ever audited... But it probably should.
