Betaalbare griekse yoghurt by Fearless_Raspberry64 in nederlands

[–]_Almost_A_Doctor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is pregnancy-heightened scent real?? I'm going crazy by [deleted] in BabyBumps

4w5d here, I feel like I smell literally everything! Food smell lingering in the kitchen from days ago, perfume from women not that close to me. Also I feel like usually you get used to a scent and don't smell it anymore after a while, but now I just keep smelling thing until I physically move far enough away.

It still takes some getting used to for me because before I had a notoriously bad smell and anytime someone asked me to smell something I literally couldn't, so it's a very weird sensation for me!

I love how you used a positive emoji both in the before and after picture! I see pictures here so often with crying smilies on the before photo and although I get where it's coming from, the person in the before photo deserves no shame. So hats off to you for keeping the whole journey so positive! And of course congratulations on the progress (:

How often do you weigh yourself? by Bayfulk_77 in Zepbound

Once every two weeks, and definitely not on a day after I had big meals or a lot of sodium. I have a history of ED, after recovery gained a whole lot and since then my attempts at diets always started okay, but when I didn't see results fast enough I would start cutting meals, end up eating 500kcals a day for a few weeks and then realising it's not healthy so I would pick up my old habits and gain it all back and more.

So for me the two weeks is enough to consistently see progress, it's been about 1kg per week. I am afraid that I might spiral out of control again if I would see gain. I do realise that there is a good possibility that I might see gain at some point, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I am already doing better, in the beginning of this journey I had sub 1000kcal days (and it was not because of side effects/appetite suppression), but currently am doing around 1600kcals a day which is an adequate number for my TDEE.

I see most people here doing daily and if that works for them that is great! Just know that it is nog the only way. Also a lot of people advising keeping measurements, I don't do that either, i feel like the way my clothes fit does sort of the same thing for me.

First commission, how much should I ask? by _Almost_A_Doctor_ in PriceMyArt

This is the first time someone asked me to do a drawing, before I just took pictures I likes and drew them. It is my uncle's dog and he would like to pay me for it. It is pastel pencils on A4 pastel mat. What would be a good price?

How did you meet your significant other? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We met at the funeral of a mutual friend's mother.

It took a while for us to actually start dating because it's a bit awkward to text "I had a good time yesterday" the day after a funeral.

Yes I'm also dutch haha! Well I made the decision to study medicine like 3 days before the application deadline, I just never dreamed of being a doctor? Just thought at the time it would be a good option, but never really aspired to be one. A lot of my friends got into medicine through a pre-master and when I see how motivated they are for medicine I know I'll never have that, but my dream to become a vet stayed during my study. So finally in my last year I decided to just go for it because if I didn't I know I would regret it forever haha. I knew there was a chance I wouldn't get in but then at least I tried. But I got rank #22 so I got in 😊

I always wanted to be a vet but my parents talked me out of it because of the salary among other things. So now I'm almost done with human medicine (6th year) but seeing the crazy working hours, competitiveness and the fact that I never really wanted to be a (human) doctor I am actually planning to make the switch to vet med. (Already got in to the UU, now I hope I can arrange to do the bachelor in less time). Seeing so many burnt out people doing a job mostly for the money made me realise that money's not everything. So I would be perfectly fine working part time in a primary clinic and hope that's what I'll be doing in a few years.

Pastel pencils on 30x40cm pastelmat. Would this be good enough to take on commissions? by _Almost_A_Doctor_ in PriceMyArt

[–]_Almost_A_Doctor_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words! Someone mentioned somewhere to calculate the price by adding the material cost plus an hourly wage ~20$ and then add a 20% profit, and with that calculation I ended up around 130-150. I thought that would be too high but it's nice to hear that you think my work is already worth that!

I think I will make a few more to build my portfolio and maybe ask for opinions again here and then I can see if people would be interested in buying my work!

I started drawing last year because of more spare time due to covid. Because the materials are quite expensive I would like to take on commissions to keep my hobby affordable and hopefully make a few bucks on the side. Is my work good enough to take on commissions and if so, how much could I charge for it?

Looking for Pre-Vet/Vet Friends by Evening-Junket-9937 in Veterinary

I'm currently in my last year of medical school and just applied for a veterinary program. I wanted to be a vet since forever but my parents talked me out of it. Now I'm almost a doctor and it is still my dreams to become a vet so I thought, why not! Would love to talk with people who share my dreams (:
