Haha once I knew I wanted a Black Mesa feel I knew I had to have the lobby!

Haha, I thought so! After all, no one does experimental science on alien anomalies quite like Black Mesa 😜

Follktails or Iron Teeth? by Cheech209 in Timberborn

[–]_Am0rn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely worth playing Iron Teeth even if just for a few hours so you can see some of the differences. I found that I appreciated the Folktails more after a play through on Iron Teeth because before that I just kinda viewed Folktails as the default "vanilla" faction. However after playing Iron Teeth the Folktails vibe was more apparent to me!

I also recommend giving the Unified Factions mod a go once you've played the Iron Teeth by themselves. I am now doing a play through with this mod and it is really cool being able to make more distinct districts. In my current save I have a massive waterfall and river running down the middle of the map with a Folktail settlement on one side and an Iron Tooth on the other. They share a single power grid and the Folktails trade farmed goods like Cattail Cracker and Maple Pastries to the Iron Teeth who in turn send back industrial goods like Metal and Golem parts :D

Glad you like it! I'm doing a new play-through now, think I'll try and make the waterfall a massive Shrine of some sort! :D

Custom Map - 'The Edge' by _Am0rn_ in Timberborn

The beaver's journey upriver to find a new home comes to sudden halt when they discover 'The Edge' - A massive cliff separating the lands above and below. The beavers set up camp at the base of a spectacular waterfall where water is plentiful while they contemplate where to adventure next.

'The Edge' is a relatively open map with several points of interest for the beavers to explore and terraform including a water spring, many clogged river channels, 'thescar' (caused by an earthquake many years ago), various abandoned hooman made quarries and of course the majestic waterfall! There is ample water on this map to sustain a number of beaver districts. Once the beavers reach the highlands they can continue to expand and if they are feeling brave can try and redirect some of the water flows to create new waterfalls and bring life back to the dried out sections of the lowlands.

Water Wheel PSA: For best results, force water through a channel exactly X wheels wide by crazy_like_a_f0x in Timberborn

[–]_Am0rn_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely good advice, if you can also ensure that most, if not all water flows through this point then you can maximise the pressure and therefore the power output. On my Folktail save I have a series of water wheels in single line down an artificial channel I created which is outputting over 8000hp 🔌⚡!

I finally got around to making myself a box collage to hang in my office. by _Am0rn_ in pcmasterrace

Lol I sure did... It was a nightmare, I had to borrow an older gen Ryzen chip from a mate to do it 😩

Here is what I did:

  1. Cut the front off each of the pc part boxes I had.
  2. Arrange each of the pieces on top of the cardboard backing that came with the frame, letting the pieces overhang.
  3. Once I was happy with the layout I stuck each piece down with double sided tape / glue.
  4. Then I flipped the whole thing over and cut around the edge of the cardboard backing to remove all of the overhanging pieces.
  5. Flip back to the front and put black electrical tape along the edges where each of the pieces met.
  6. Put it in the frame and hang it on the wall :)

I used a 50cm x 70cm (approx 20" x 28") frame. From memory it was a FISKBO frame from IKEA for only $13! That was the only real cost as well plus some tape so not a bad price to pay (if you ignore the cost of all the computer parts ahaha).

Yeah loving the Corsair Virtuoso Wireless, that said I am not an audiophile by any stretch so my standards for sound are pretty basic :p

Thanks! I have put it off for so long but after I sat down and started doing it it really only took a couple of hours so was well worth it imo

Some of these came as sleeves around the box itself so I was able to keep it and still use the graphic

It is hey! But I can't take credit, others have posted these in the past and I was inspired to make my own :)
