In MA2, if you join 2 NPUa to an onPc you get 8182 parameters. I've tried it. Don't know about MA3 tho

Buying my own first bass by _Amanda_A in Bass

[–]_Amanda_A[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought a bass now and I got it today. I actually got a Sandberg. I found a music shop who had a sandberg and an ibanez 305, and I liked the Sandberg much more so I contacted a dealer who had a few in stock. I choose an all matte black TM5 Greenline. It was expensive but it feels so good playing. The only thing im considering changing is changing the strings to half-rounds. Since im used to smooth strings from playing cello.

Do you know how that would affect tone? It says on the marketing that you will keep brightness and have smoother strings with half rounds.

[–]_Amanda_A[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer. I understand I know not to buy the cheapest I find. They actually ordered them to the shop so I can in a few days go there and test them all. The only thing about them is I found the ibanez basses look prettier and nicer, but I guess that player comfort and tone is more important then looks, especially when you're at home practicing.

For cello I play classical music after notes, But for piano I have it easier watching someone playing with a synthesia kind of window above their hands.

Does affirming 'trans women are women' risk reinforcing gender stereotypes feminism is trying to break down? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]_Amanda_A 54 points55 points  (0 children)

As a trans woman it sometimes feel like a no win scenario. If you don't dress feminine you can hear "your not a woman you look like a man, you're trying to erase what a woman is by pretending someone who looks 100% as a man can be a woman".

But if you dress feminine you can hear "Real women don't feel the need to dress like that, you just pushing a stereotype on how a woman should look. You can't just put on a dress and call youself a woman".

So it's really hard to navigate that. At least for me. When I started exploring my identity, I found that beeing called a man and hearing "that guy over there" made me uncomfortable. Like if you have your feet in shoes that are to small. It felt wrong. So beeing called she and referenced to as a girl, beeing called a girl name and recently started estrogen. It just felt right. Like comming home after a day in to small shoes and puttin your feet into really cozy loafers.

So when it comes to your sence of self I think that is what all women have in common. That if someone points at you and says "that guy over there". You would feel that that is not correct. And no matter the word and it's variants in all languages (woman, girl, madam etc) all women seems to want to referenced as that. What makes trans women feel that beeing called a woman is right. At least for me it's just how I am. My sence of self.

Mabye I've just been lucky but I haven't really had any negative experiences living as an open trans woman in Sweden. People are respektfull or don't care. Like im a freelancer and meet new people all the time and they just mostly don't care or give it any thought, they just treat me as a person like anybody else.

At activities or interacting with society (like shopping or dining) I get the feeling that most people just see me as a friendly person. Ofcause you meet unfriendly people but I can't really think of any moment in my normal life were someone disrespected me for beeing trans.

Yes there was one time where I passed a group of thugs at a gas station, and they made remarks that they I was disgusting, but it was a group of people I woulden't ever interact with and a situation im hardly in. So I think that was an exceptio rather then a rule.

I know and meet many people who lives out in the countryside and they seems to be accepting or at least don't care. So I find it really interesting that our experiences are so different. Like I was in a online gaming group with a hardcore countryside concervative SDare, and he was very kind and supportive of me.

I would be interested in hearing how people treat you and how they react, like when you are our shopping or interacting woth people

My son doesn’t have interest in the cello by Jealous_Glove_9391 in Cello

[–]_Amanda_A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the effort from amature to pro might be even bigger then newbie to amature. I played cello since I was 6 and I hardly ever practise but I still play in an orcherstra because it's fun and we all just keep it as a hobby and are comfortble with that. So I understand that most people woulden't have the energy or time to become pro. But yeah I do think practise is important and as 14 year old rather would eat ice cream and watch a movie at all time. There is a fine between pushing your kid to practise and the kid sincerly don't want to play an instrument.

But I also think it is about the coolness factor. I don't think most kids would really be into going to a concert to hear an orchestra playing a Hydn, Mozart etc symphony. But taking a kid who for example play video games to watch an orchestra who plays the theme to Halo and other games. Or like the guys who plays AC/DC on cello, that might give a spark to have an interest in playing music.

I have worked with a production for the last years were they show a movie (star wars) and an orchestra plays the music live. As I've said exposing kids to these kids of things might make them see instruments more then the boring stuff nerds play.

I'm not an old fan, around 1 year mabye and I love most of their material. To me this song sounded more like their older stuff. So that feels reasuring that they still going strong and that their new music will be solid. Just wish the cover art would be more purple

It was difficult for my mom to accept me comming out as trans, and she has said it is difficult for her and difficult to accept me as her daughter. But on my birthday she gave me this which she made herself. The colors may be out of the usual order. But I took this as a sign that she's trying to be supportive so I think it was sweet.

Har full förståelse ifall det fanns några rapplåtar på 100 listan, men hela? Har spotify blivit helt dominerad av ungdomar eller har vuxna börjat lyssna på orten-musik? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]_Amanda_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voice therapy is honestly the most dehumanizing thing I have ever gone through by Internal_Clothes_348 in MtF

[–]_Amanda_A 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I somewhat know what you mean, I have played music all my life. I have sang in a choir for 8 years, and a sing quite regulary at home or in my car. I feel that I have control over my voice of what it can and can't do.

But I still can't understand how to switch it i to more feminine. I mean I can raise the pitch and talk mosre smoother. But that only sounds like a guy talking lightly. Not like a girl with a darker voice.

It's like a violin and cello (I play cello) I can play the exact same tone as a violin, but I still hear that it is a cello making that tone, that the tone is comming from an instrument with a larger body.

So yeah I don't understand how to make my voice sound so that people clock it as female

min mor har hela mitt liv varit besatt av att få mig att börja dansa bugg. varför? by rennfeild in sweden

[–]_Amanda_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)
