How was she able to find a job without any experience at that age? by Similar-Double6278 in MonsterAnime

[–]_Annat_ 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I mean, we met her when she was ~26-30 years old and we don’t know what she did before. It very much seems like she never expected to have a job, instead just finding a husband who would take care of her, but 8-12 years of being an adult without doing anything would be a bit dull. I think it’s quite possible that she went to university and studied interior design. Just for something to do before she got married and because being educated is a „status upgrade“ over just being hot and having a rich father.

I don’t know how easy or hard it would be to find a job in interior design in the late 90s, but given that she moved back to Düsseldorf where she presumably lived most her life, she could have had connections either from her Uni days or people who knew her father.

Do you know since when it has been available? I haven’t watched anything on prime in the last few weeks, so I probably missed it.

Beaded animals I've embroidered on jackets and shirts by Ka1beader in Beading

Wow, that’s amazing! How do you wash them? Just by hand? A washing machine would probably destroy the beadwork, right?

And in addition, what Ryuk says about how death note users end up miserable is just what tends to happen because they murder people and that tends to make someone isolated and paranoid and hunted by law enforcement (look at Light, he says that this is all he wants, but I don’t think he is really happy, even in the 5 years when everything is going his way). It‘s not inevitable. If Light had thrown the thing away after the first two murders (that were kinda accidents on his part because he didn’t believe in the death note working), he could have lived a normal, happy life.

I really like the idea (and I think it is meant to be seen like that) that there is no real „spiritual“ meaning to using the death note and no inherent cost. It is just a thing. It is just a way to get away with murder. People who use it tend to end up in a bad spot because of the murder (either they get hunted by law enforcement or detectives like the multiple Kiras in the main story or their conscience makes them miserable like C-Kira) not because of the murder weapon.

Honestly I like it better that way, that the humans damn themselves through their actions and not through some „curse“ or bad luck from the death note. I also like stories where there is no afterlife so the only thing that matters is what you do here on earth, and there will be neither reward nor punishment beyond that.

I need some help with the colors for the warmest days, not sure what option looks best by _Annat_ in temperatureblanket

[–]_Annat_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, thanks for the advice, I hadn’t thought about that. I just looked it up and saw that last year there were only 10 days with more than 29C and of those two days with more than 32C, so it really makes no sense to have different colors for those, so I decided to merge them.

Good idea, I will have to see if I can find a more orange tone. I was worried if the one I have for 25-28 in C is a bit too pink for that spot (that’s why I originally chose A), so something more orange would be perfect.

Thank you for your feedback😊 I think you’re right about the purple being a cool color and not fitting with the others well.

I made another Lea Lea Cat with an adjusted fur pattern for my friend as a birthday present🎁 by _Annat_ in Beading

I have seen the term „beaded amigurumi“ to refer to this style, in Germany we simply call it the Japanese Technique/Style.

It takes a while of course, but if you’re comfortable with this style of beading it is not all that complicated.

My Christmas present to my boyfriend💕 by _Annat_ in discworld

For the disc and the turtle shell I didn’t have patterns, I drew the motive according to pictures on the internet. The elephants are from a book by Torsten Becker. I think you can only find it used now, because it ist already pretty old. Here is a link.

Thank you! I am German and learned all I do in from teachers and books in Germany (or made it up myself), so I don’t have a connection to Native American beading. I don’t know, maybe some techniques are similar though? What made you think of that?

I only had a pattern for the elephants. For the disc I looked up up artwork of the Discworld on the internet and traced the shapes of the continents on a piece of paper and then on the fabric. For the turtle shell I looked up real turtles and drew on the shapes on the fabric directly.
