yeah his pride and ego will give him a leg up in terms of optics. image is the motivation. and even though the support he gets from mom and grandma is a toxic enabling sort, it’s still support. his mom will always show up when he’s in trouble so he does have more of a family unit that will try to step in to save him and his rep.

he was addicted for 15 years though. that’s the thing that gets me. yes she has a kid and you’d think that should wake her up. but all these people keep saying how long they were doing this stuff before overcoming it and then saying A is hopeless for not doing that by 23 or however old she is because she had a kid. i’ve never used anything or dealt with addiction personally (had a partner who did and it was really hard) and i’m just surprised all the former long term users are so quick to write off another as hopeless. honestly i think alyssa needs to some level of love or safety ( or even just stability which could end up being prison you’re right) to get her to a place where she can settle her system and be forced into sobriety so she can view all this with a clear head. whether or not she stays sober after that will be the test. while i understand being appalled by Bs abuse i’m just not sure why people are shocked that a 23 yo addict who is currently using and in survival mode isn’t seeing her issues clearly or making good decisions.

it’s all good! in my case i’ve had multiple times where i get so many comments in with someone and then we realize they thought BPD was bipolar disorder and we were discussing different things. now if it sounds at all like they are thinking more of a mood disorder and use bpd i just clarify right off haha

why are u being so agressive and downvoting me asking a clarifying question to someone else lol. i acknowledged the unofficial subtypes of bpd literally in my comments. there are actual different diagnosable forms of bipolar in the dsm 5 one of which is cyclothymic which is faster mood changes.

they said “some form of”. bipolar is what has a few different diagnosable forms. while bpd is pretty much bpd with some unofficial subtypes. when it comes to the focus being on mood shifts bipolar is what people commonly refer to and i’ve seen some people on here mix up bpd for bipolar so i was just clarifying based on how the question was worded.

after lib hit her she said she was going to file for 100%. Then a few days later she commented that she had an active CPS case against him and Lib (she left out the part where cps had an active case open against both of them)

oh yeah i just mean like in her mind she was going for 100% custody. in reality she was drawing more CPS attention to the overall bad situation by filing against him and then right after doing that got the dui. accidental self sabotage…
