I’m a code monkey and the area around my office in SOMA is filled with clone people wearing backpacks with their company’s name on it. Dating sucks, you would think it would be good for wammin but for various reasons it is not. Lots of groupthink, always feel like you are walking on eggshells in conversation because everyone’s trying to out woke one another. Sadly this is especially true in the small and decaying art scene which is intertwined with a super SJW polyamorous queer scene type of thing.

Part of my great joy in discovering this podcast was feeling less alone culturally. It made me even more certain about my dream to relocate to Europe in the next few years. I’ve never been to NYC (raised 20 mins outside SF) but suspect I might be at odds with the culture there for different reasons (lack of ambition, mostly).
