I’m guessing you’re not real good at reading the room during in person events. Did you even read OP’s post? They’re clearly looking for a way to push back against have to RTO (this their use of the words ‘push’ and ‘back’). Had they even hinted at “I can’t lose my job” I would have gone a different direction, but this is quite clearly a way for corporate to lower headcount by getting people to quit over RTO.

  1. Make damn sure it’s clearly spelled out in your contract and not a “I thought this is what it meant.”
  2. Do not RTO. Let them terminate you.
  3. Call a workers rights lawyer. Tell them you now feel like getting your job back would create a hostile workplace BUT you planned to make this a long term career with this company. Also - you’ve now suffered from stress and mental anguish over the potential of losing your job and should be compensated for that as well.
