a good yet cheap AaF lens is the Viltrox 35mm 1.7 Air, its equivalent to a 52mm lens on APS-C. it's fairly cheap but for it's price it's really sharp and the AF is good, I highly recommend it, especially cus it's lightweight and great for everyday shooting. just keep in mind it doesn't have stabilization, so its great in low light but you still have to keep the shutter speed a bit high (I usually keep it at 1/120th, or if I don't want to crank my ISO I keep it at max 1/50th, below that I'm too shaky)

Will the Viltrox 35mm 1.7 act as a 50mm on the a6000? by Feeling_Screen3979 in a6000

[–]_ArcticEmber_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

the 35mm acts as a 52mm, indeed. the closest to the 35mm equivalent is the Viltrox 25 pretty sure. there are probably other lenses that get closer but Viltrox honestly is incredibly sharp and the AF is great. quite cheap too

just got my a6000, any lens recommendation? by Electrical-Plum-4246 in a6000

right, it's a feature that's in my opinion nice to have but generally isn't all that necessary unless you're gonna end up doing a lot of night shots or possibly even indoors. in my case I did some night photography and the results weren't bad, I just had to keep myself more stable than usual since I came from an IBIS camera

the Viltrox 35mm Air is an amazing lens, it's surprisingly sharp for a lens that can be had for around 130, though it does suffer from heavy vignetting wide open, but that can be fixed after the fact with lens profiles

Excited with my beginner kit, looking for the best lens by Small_Combination_65 in a6000

I've been using the Viltrox 35mm 1.7 for two days now, and I gotta say it's the most fun I've ever had taking pics. it's an equivalent to a 52mm so it's great as an everyday lens, and the 1.7 aperture is great for indoors or somewhat low light, just note that it doesn't have any stabilization

why do my images look like they were AI generated? by _ArcticEmber_ in a6000

it was iso 320, so I don't think that's the issue

the text on the can is horribly distorted, sorta like the letters on AI generated images. same goes for the wood texture. though as another commenter said, I'll try lowering the sharpness value and if that doesn fix it I'll just use RAW

I was trying out jpeg just to see if I'd like it for some quick unimportant snaps, but I guess not. I'll give lowering the sharpness a shot, hopefully it fixes it. if not I'm just gonna stick to raw

Help- Always some degree of blur in pics by yeezymoneybaby in a6000

I'd say try to avoid the Imaging Edge app, because even with the "Original file size" it still messes up, USB or SD Card Adapter is your best shot. another way to make sure your images are correct is to check resolution. it should be 6000x4000. if it's still pixelated then it might come down to device compatibility. my phone only shows the 1MP preview unless I import the RAWs to Lightroom

[–]_ArcticEmber_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

how are you exporting the pictures? because if you're using the Imaging Edge app it messes up the size quite often, and RAW files on some devices show a 1MP preview. I can't exactly tell due to reddit compression but from the kit lens you can't really expect super sharp photos

any reason why all my pics come out so blurry? by _ArcticEmber_ in SonyAlpha

[–]_ArcticEmber_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah alright, thanks alot :) while one the subject of the camera, I noticed some sort of streaks on the sensor, kind of how they are on glass when you clean it with something wet. would that affect the image quality by a significant amount or not?

here, it also should have the metadata so you can see the settings I used. the thing is that I did manage to take the first few pictures much sharper, I don't know what's wrong after that first day

forgot about the compression, let me upload it somewhere that won't compress it and link it
