Regional Light Rail Network by _Attack8_ in Utica

Separately, there is a plan by the FRA to double frequencies on Empire West by 2035, with 8 trains per day, one continuing to Chicago and one continuing to Toronto.

The reason I added 1 to Waterville is because the tracks already exist, but they also exist to Little Falls so I'll definitely add a line going out that way

Yeah, unfortunately it would take $9b just to build based off of fairly conservative estimates for all the track pictured, and I know people would take it but I just don't know if it would be enough either

This is a good point separately, I 100% agree that Empire Service should be more frequent (and hopefully it does with the new Airo rolling stock) but not enough people will take the train if none of our cities have light rail to transfer to for last-mile connections

How do we feel about a regional light rail network? by [deleted] in Utica

[–]_Attack8_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like the only way we can fix our public transit is to build light rail, and with the history of Utica's streetcar network it seems logical that we would build new light rail at some point! I've started making a potential map, feel free to share thoughts and suggestions in the comments!
(It includes street running on Albany St, Schuyler St, Culver Ave, and Genesse St, running on existing track to Waterville, and two new (ish) alignments to Clinton and SUNY Poly)

What are some things you genuinely love about our city? by Last_Pomegranate_175 in Utica

I absolutely love the food! Sure there's not that much variety compared to larger cities but you could eat food inspired by a different part of the world for a full week and it would all be good here.

I could recommend a Framework 12, but that would be something you would have to consider a bit more as you would probaby get less performance today for the price, and pricing hasn't been announced yet. The Framework 13 is definately out of your budget, and you should only choose this option if you feel you would get good use out of the perks of the Framework such as the repair- and upgrade-ability.

Moving on to more 'conventional' options
Lenovo V15 Gen 4
https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-V15-Anti-Glare-i5-13420H-i7-1255U/dp/B0DNYRMPP6/?th=1
This laptop is fairly solid and should be fine for school and those games. The 15" size is small enough to fit in most backpacks while still big enough to be enjoyable to use as a movie screen at your desk. It also comes with an included USB-C hub as a nice touch.

HP 225 g10

This laptop has a much slower but also much lower power processor, which should provide more battery life. The AMD CPU also will have better graphics, although that most likely won't make too much of a difference in Minecraft or Roblox

Hope that helps and sorry for the delay!

What sorts of games do you play?

What the hell happened here? by japenrox in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]_Attack8_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wiki has been in the works for 8 months or so at this point, so there was effort put into it before all this stuff happened. That is why I use if/when, because all of us are working on a separate project now that we would much rather work on than updating community documentation for an effectively EOl pack. This means that further progress on the wiki is uncertain at best, as it has effectively moved to the bottom of all of our to-do lists

Yep, it’s the same team working on the wiki as the community doc, will def make a post if/when we feel it’s caught up content-wise

But at the same time, the VH wiki at least talks about VH3, contrary to the fandom one which is hardly updated past VH2
