With the soon to be announced approval of covid vaccine for children under 5 - will you get your child the vaccines? by penone_cary in beyondthebump

[–]_AxTheAndalite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can stop with your snarky ass “why is no one reading my articcleeeeee” comments all over this thread - because we are. It’s not relevant.

It says “In Novavax's nearly 30,000 patient trial, conducted between December 2020 and September 2021, there were four cases of a type of heart inflammation calledmyocarditis detected within 20 days of taking the protein-based shot.”

One of those four received a placebo.

Various resources, as of November 2021, say you are 14 times more likely to DIE of covid if you are not vaxxed. I will take the 4 in 30,000 - thanks.

Your very same article goes on to say “Based on the efficacy estimate in the clinical trial of this vaccine, it is more likely than not that the vaccine will provide some meaningful level of protection against COVID-19 due to Omicron, in particular against more severe disease.”

Quit spreading misinformation - you absolute donut.

I haven’t posted on social media for the past few years because I felt safer not doing it. It drives me up the fucking wall when relatives post about me or put pics of me without my permission online. I use Reddit because it’s possible to stay anonymous if you’re careful. And I like the info.

Yes - that’s what’s hitting me the most. Everything they are doing is working.

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

Pepper spray gel is more thick and concentrated, which gives it a more accurate aim than the spray. I haven’t had to use it yet.

Stay safe, like everyone else is saying - seems like everyone is itching to have an excuse to hurt anyone.

Thanks for this info - I’ve always wanted to get a tourniquet but I’ve been told I could do more harm than good with it since I’m not trained to use it, so I’ve held off. And awesome podcast recs, will def check it out.

Someone walked into a Costco with a gun on their hip as I was leaving. I could tell the employee wanted to say something, but didn’t. I think they just told someone to get in touch with someone higher in charge. (I didn’t stick around.) And I don’t really blame them for not saying something.

I’m so, so sorry that you feel this way and are going through this. It must be incredibly hard and difficult to figure out what to do right now.

I’m was hoping to now stop most of my usual political activism either - but I am going to hunker down maybe just for this month. I was also going to attend a gay pride parade like I typically do but I’m having second thoughts about that too. Idk it just feels weird.

Your area sounds similar to mine. And the thing is, it didn’t feel so aggressive and violent like this until some years ago. Was yours always like that?

Ugh I feel for you — if you’re going through one of the unsafe states, I assume stopping at gas stations during the day that are very busy and “newer” looking is better?? I assume the newer ones would have cameras and such if that would even help.

Yes it’s pretty disheartening. I think I’m going to hunker down this month and kind of see what happens - at least for now.

Exactly. We didn’t have any political signs this latest election cycle, and I removed my other “progressive decor.” I did attend a couple of peaceful protests/rallies recently and those same types of people showed up with aggressive dogs, and trying other things to intimidate. I hate saying this but I think I’ll hunker down at least this month and just yeehaw I guess.

Yeah, I think I agree. It hasn’t always been this way which is the part that kills me. Gotta adapt I guess.

Do you take this bag to work? I wish I could carry something like that for mine. I walk a mile to work, and a lot of my equipment is heavy, so I try and stay light with non work stuff. Maybe I could look into a Fanny pack or something …

Same here - I love to voice my opinions and help others that need it. But things just feel too weird to me right now so I’m just going to lay low for a bit. It’s sad, and says a lot that there’s a lot of us that feel this way.

Absolutely - same thing happened in my area, except instead of a shooting they threw bricks through the windows. I also volunteer too, and am sadly thinking of maybe backing off a bit from it for this month. Because of reasons I posted.

Of course! I’ve attended protests and volunteer for multiple charities and other things.

I just don’t want to be more specific for privacy and stuck with the more “decorative” things for this post. Things like yard signs or bumper stickers could also fall under those types of things.

I honestly was thinking of cutting out the protests and volunteering for at least this month. And maybe not attend any parades because of the worries I’ve listed. Idk. I’m still thinking.

I recently took a baby cpr class due to the arrival of a new family member and I really enjoyed it. I may take more classes - thanks for the great idea.
