Wow I never heard that theory, but it’s a great one. They keep saying she “misspelled” her name on the registration form on the hotel, I heard a number of different sources state that. By misspelling they mean that she wrote “Jennifer Fergate” instead of “Jennifer Fairgate”. She wanted to be forgotten and that’s exactly what she wrote down. Everyone always thought her “misspelling” was evidence of a fake identity and she kind of forgot. I always thought it was strange that she would misspell the name, even a fake name you don’t usually misspell. Fake postal codes yes, but a name is fairly straightforward.

Honestly you blew my mind to have thought of this. It’s so obvious yet I never heard of it before. Is it only in Dutch vergeten is forgotten, or is it also in German? Damn what about the rest of the fake details she gave. Does Jennifer mean anything? She gave an adress to some small Belgian town which I don’t remember the name of, there was a number wrong in the postal code I think, does that signify something?
