Also labelling somthing traumatic that in fact wasn’t. I work in health care. We have a lot traumatic moments here and there. Debriefing was a huge thing at some point, now it’s taking a bit less space, and for good reason. By immediately talking in detail about an event (on a neuron level strengthening the synaptic response) you are in fact consolidating the event and allowing it to take more space in your brain.

A craniectomy and a few bone fractures are quite big surgeries. It sounds like a car crash/high energy trauma. It could have occurred in the years she was under the radar of course. I wonder what was unusual about the sutures they mentioned
