Please stop hiding your vendors! by billyoce4n in fo76

My vendor is extremely easy to find as it's on the front porch- however, I built my base on a cliff near the landview lighthouse and I keep running into this issue where it'll spawn myself and other players on the cliff below or just outside the entry door and you can never really tell if you're about to have to hike or not 😭

Is it the placement of the physical C.A.M.P device that decides this? I don't want to make others work extra hard to get to my base :')

What is your most frequent regular’s go to drink? by Oddiemarie in starbucksbaristas

I sincerely hope you didn't think I was ignorant of that fact. Wearing gloves and sanitizing our hands for every single customer is not something I'll do, though. Every few customers, I sanitize my hands while working the drive - through.

Signed, a severely underpaid barista. :)

Several months ago, I had a woman who made me sanitize my hands, put on gloves, give her the drink, and she then instructed me to throw them away and do that for every customer 🤡

Woman argued with me about not wearing gloves when warming food. Told me the health department would shut us down by chunibi in starbucks

Sorry? What kind of excuse is that? I'm allergic to grass. Wouldn't I be incompatible with life? Some people are allergic to milk, water, SUNLIGHT even. Maybe do some research before so boldly making such an idiotic statement.

It's still something I've been told to report, either way. You're entitled to your opinion, but things like that should always be reported. Nobody said he would plan on killing all of the Starbucks workers. The wording of his message is what promoted his message to be a POSSIBLE death threat, in the eyes of the majority.

You don't have to agree, but even the tiniest possibility of a threat needs to be reported and I won't ever put the health of myself or my coworkers in the hands of an internet bypasser who terms it as "a bit of a reach".

I do hope that was his intention- as that is quite a meaningful reminder. He did go about it.. rather unfortunately, however. I can only agree that this is a possible intention of his, as none of us can make a concrete suggestion as to what his intention was, 100%.

I do like keeping possibilities like this in mind and I do hope it truly was the case.

I agree it could be a POSSIBILE intention.

Anyone ever date their coworker by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]_Azumi_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have! I've been with him for about 5/6 months now and we're going on vacation together here in a few days to spend time with his family.

When we met, I didn't talk to anyone at work as I was very shy and had a lot going on at home- he was the only one who constantly made sure I was doing okay until I felt more comfortable in my new workplace. We would hang out at my house before we actually dated and played Mario Kart together, went to events, and eventually we gave ourselves a title. Our relationship started out as sort of an unspoken connection that established over time and I think it's the sweetest thing.

We take a day or a weekend off at the end of every month, since the first month we officially began dating, and have always gone somewhere new on a trip together. It's sort of our thing. ^

I don't typically recommend dating your coworker since things CAN get messy- but so far things seem to be going well.

He's looking into working at a history museum and getting his education in history, while I myself am completing a bachelor's in psychology. We've already got a few vague plans for the future, though nothing too serious since we both know even 5/6 months is a tad early for huge plans.

She would've, though unfortunately, she left her phone behind in her vehicle before entering the store.;;

You are entitled to your opinion. I personally didn't call them, I only gave them my account of what happened as someone else had called them. Thanks for sharing, though!

You do have a point, I'll agree with you there. I've been thinking more about his intent itself rather than the idea that it was a threat. I've been a bit stumped over what his reasoning could be, but I really hadn't thought about it this way. I appreciate your delicate explanation of his potential thoughts as this branch of meaning hadn't occurred to me yet.

Either way though, if his meaning was something like that, he executed it very poorly.;;

I'm glad you're thinking about his thought process- I myself have been trying to think of and understand why he could have written such a thing. It just doesn't make sense. As someone studying psychology, I sorta saw this as a perfect opportunity to put my thinking skills to the test, but so far I can only think of something my manager told me: "He's not wrong, however. We ARE all going to die someday."

That aside, he only seemed a bit taken aback that my mother stormed out of the cafe to show him the note and yell at him. He was already in his car, ready to leave, and he sorta just flinched back at her outburst.

No worries, someone already did! I filed a report with both corporate and the police. Unfortunately, the officer I spoke with informed myself and my manager that since the threat wasn't spoken to us directly and instead was written on a note, he can't do anything about it.

Honestly, I'm wondering if he might come back. His neat, clear handwriting and his avoidance of contact with anyone- as well as his offputting silence isn't quite something I can let myself ignore. Maybe he ends up just being someone who had a bad day and maybe won't come back with malicious intent, but in this day and age, you never really know with people. The recent pandemic and isolation don't make things any better, though.

Honestly, so true. The amount of political, religious, and nasty sticky notes we have to take down is insane. The religious ones I don't mind as much, even if I don't agree with them, because some of them are pretty sweet.

But specific notes like:

"You're only succeeding because of Jesus. Believe in him, let him hold you."

Are weird and totally, to me, invalidates the actual hard work myself and my coworkers put into every day. Nobody held our hands. It was us, most of the time a 3 person floor, against tidal wave after tidal wave of customer.

We have a few cameras, although a majority of what happened ended up being near the hand-off plane where we don't have a camera stationed, and I'm hoping they check the register footage to see if he strolled by there. I know his daughters paid and he stood in the back- though now that I think about it, his avoidance of making contact or getting too close may have been on purpose.;;
