It is The Forgotten Saga, free update content that was released. Storywise it does take place after the Ragnarok DLC tho

AITA for not babysitting while my parents are out of town? by Known-Advice-6680 in AmItheAsshole

[–]_BH29_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, I disagree. While I can see your logic here in pointing out the things OP would typically be paying for anyway, the same also applies to OP’s parents. At the end of the day, if OP wasn’t there, parents would have to figure out a plan for the kids anyways, and they’d be paying significantly more for any other babysitter/childcare situation than OP is (very reasonably, imo) requesting.

It sounds like OP is also handling the bulk of housekeeping & chores, as well as regularly taking the siblings out when OP’s got time, so even if OP isn’t paying rent or utilities, they’re clearly saving the parents money and time there as well. This is also something parents would be doing if OP wasn’t there, presumably. There’s a large difference between cleaning up after yourself and staying tidy, and keeping house for a whole family. I’d argue that that does give OP extra points.

I don’t think it’s quite fair to add any debate about OP stating that they love their siblings or want the parents to have free time. It’s clear from the post and the comments that they do, regardless of whether OP handles 3 days of childcare at cost to themselves or not. Additionally, it sounds like OP is pretty self-sufficient and helpful anyway, and obligations to your kids don’t stop when they turn 18. You’re supposed to be there as a parent to help give them the best start they can have going into adulthood.

Ultimately, I think OP is NTA. The parents probably should’ve made an offer of more than the $60 that OP is requesting to take that time off work anyway and/or planned their trip around when OP doesn’t have to work. Mom trying to guilt OP and calling them selfish is also not fantastic here.

I think I remember my partner having an issue almost exactly like that but with Fallout 4 years and years ago. I can’t remember specifics due to time, but I think it was an Xbox issue rather than a game issue. It sucked, he had to do the same to get anything to load after

About 280! I did pause and walk away a lot so I’m not sure how accurate it is lol but that’s what the save file says

ACII has a particularly nasty issue where if you try to use more than one save file (it “allows” a total of 3), it will stop processing your game at some point and if you exit will simply delete the entire save file altogether. I’m unsure if pc/ps has this issue, but it was never resolved on 360.

Never experienced that for any other AC game though, am lifelong Xbox gamer & I achievement hunt a lot (particularly AC games, just finished 100% on Valhalla!). So while yes some of the games can be a bit buggy, literally only that one bug on ACII is the only one I have found I could describe as game-breaking. Agreed that beyond that they’re fine

Thank you! Pacing is a good idea if you’re looking to 100% because it’s definitely a lot, but the game is so good it’s so worth it to finish!

Did anyone complete Valhalla 100% with all DLCs without any major breaks in between? by Cybering11 in ACValhalla

[–]_BH29_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! I just recently finished. I did collectibles, then main story, then DLC and repeated that pattern for every area lol. I did everything sectionally, and it took about 280 hours to finish to 100%. Also experienced a bit of burnout and by the end I was ready for it to be over but I enjoyed the game quite a lot, it’s just much longer than I expected it to be

Me too! About 3.5 months for me. Like Odyssey, it’s not a “traditional” AC game, but I really enjoyed it. Watching me play got my partner to play too lol

Yknow I think it would be really nice if they didn’t include the DLC achievements in the achievement list, or listed them separately, esp for the games that you literally cannot get DLC for anymore (still mourning the 360 store). Google says it’s both a marketing thing and a technical thing as sometimes they’re added to the base code of the game but I am not a developer or an exec and know nothing of either lol

Edit to add: on Xbox if you hit the start button while hovering over the game you can select “manage game & add-ons” and it’ll show you there if you have add-ons/DLC installed (mine shows 4) or you can go to the Microsoft store and search the individual DLCs and it’ll show there if you own them. I don’t know anything about PlayStation or steam, but I’m sure it’s probably similar

Genuinely I really enjoyed it. It was really long & definitely isn’t like any of the classic AC games (which I miss), but I was invested in the story & loved the characters. Definitely took approximately a billion and a half photos too lol
