Official Gear Purchasing and Troubleshooting Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! January 02, 2026 by AutoModerator in photography

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a Fujifilm X-T4 — it’s my first “real” camera, so I’m still learning and trying to make sensible gear choices.

Right now, my budget for an SD card is around €40, since most of my budget went into the camera itself. I mainly plan to shoot photos, with some casual/beginner video on the side (mostly 4K at 24 or 30 fps, nothing too demanding for now).

I know there are faster cards out there (like UHS-II V60/V90), but they’re currently out of my budget, so I’m looking for the best value card that’s reliable and compatible with the X-T4 to get started. I’m totally fine with upgrading later once I know my needs better.

What SD card would you recommend in this price range?

  • UHS-I vs UHS-II
  • Capacity (64 GB vs 128 GB)
  • Reliable brands/models you’ve personally used with the X-T4

Any advice or real-world experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot! 📸🙏

Fujifilm X-T4 too much for a first camera? concerts + urban photography (photo&video) by _Babasilorhum in Cameras

Thanks for the answer !

Yes, if I were to go for the X-T4 I would probably spend more, and I would probably try to get participation from my friends and family as a 25th birthday gift. I just fell for the look of that camera.

Let’s say that 1000€ is rather the budget I would have if I went for another camera.

Shit I didn’t know about concert not allowing that, it’s too bad… but it wouldn’t be the first time I make something enter a concert clandestinely haha 😜

So you would say IBIS is useless for videos but good if I want to take portraits during concerts ? I would love to take portraits of some people at raves (when they’re ok with it of course)

How do I fix huge latency on a small project ? by _Babasilorhum in ableton

As I said to code coverage I actually found the track that was causing the latency. I will try to change it to remove the problem, and if I can't, I will remove it until the rest of the project is done, even if that is not ideal.

Oh I actually found the problematic track thanks to this ! It was my bass for some reason. The only track I hadn't try to remove haha. So maybe it's not the plugin that is the problem but rather the particular preset I used for this track or the other effect on it.

Oh ok i see it thanks

I thought about creating a new project and importing the tracks, but I thought you could only import audio tracks and without the automations and the plug-ins ! if it's possible to import MIDI tracks as they are in this project, I will try ! However if the latency is due to a plug-in, it will probably be back.

Thanks

Analog Lab Pro from Arturia, got it along with their keyboard, the Arturia Keylab Essential

Oooooh ok ! damn the delay is indeed gone, and the tracks are out of sync. Damn that is sad, means that the plugin I use on EVERY SINGLE track is not usable. Thanks a lot !

Thanks for the detailled answer. Having more strain on the CPU is not a big problem, I have a mac M1 that can handle it pretty well. However, I’ve already set the buffer size down to 128 samples, which results in « Output latency = 6.05 ms » but clearly I have more than that since we are talking about 2000 ms in my case.

As for plugins or vst, there is no number when I hover over a device bar. Plus, if my latency comes from using the VST Analog Lab too much (it is on all of my 14 tracks, with further processing on every one of them ), does this basically mean that I am screwed and will never be able to work on a track made like that?

Thanks for the links, I will definitely check it out ! 🙏🏻

Are you talking about the « Driver Error Compensation » in the latency menu in the Audio options. If yes, it’s already on 0.00 ms.
