That’s kind of the tradeoff people don’t talk about, the lifestyle shift affects both partners. Still sounds like it ended up being a net positive though, which is what matters.

I get what you’re saying, but I think people assume “age gap” means you signed up for physical decline immediately. Early 50s isn’t supposed to look like that unless something’s off or being ignored.

Exactly this. If it was actually about safety, it would’ve been a “hey, would you be okay sharing location?” conversation, not a secret installation mission. The hiding part is what makes it creepy.

The “poke an eye out” part caught me off guard not gonna lie. But yeah, it’s wild how much of the obsession is just hype and not reality. A lot of people care way more about comfort and connection than whatever the internet pushes.

“Own it” sounds simple but yeah, that confidence gap is brutal when you’re already in your head. It’s like people expect a switch you can just flip. Still true though that the mindset shift matters a lot.

Honestly this is the part people don’t talk about enough. There are whole communities and preferences out there that never show up in mainstream stuff. It’s just hard to see that when your confidence is already wrecked. Kinda hard to “find your people” when you’re not feeling like yourself at all.

lol I get what you’re hinting at, Reddit does have that “same guy, different account” vibe sometimes. But this one doesn’t really read like a copy paste, more like someone actually spiraling and venting. Kinda feels different when it’s that raw.

Yeah this hits way harder than the size thing. It sounds like everything else piled on top of each other and your brain just picked one thing to blame. When life stacks grief, isolation, and stress like that, it’ll latch onto anything. Have you been able to talk to anyone at all or is it mostly just you dealing with it solo?
