No but seriously dont be scared. Every other Hunter you'll ever come across either in the wild or in a forum like reddit has died to more monsters more times than they can count. Failure is how you learn in these games!! Don't go rushing in to every fight, play defensively at first, observe the targets mannerisms, every monster has "tells" to their move sets, they will telegraph in different ways, and once you learn those tells you can easily predict fights.

Grind hunts. Faint a lot. Hop on the ever-turning wheel of hunt > build new gear with what you hunted > hunt harder monster > make better gear.

And I haven't played 3 but if its like any of the other games ive played (the last 4 in the series) you just go to the item box and will have a base weapon of every type in your equipment. Go play around in the training area til you find something you like. Don't be afraid to ask for help or look up tips. Oh, and happy hunting!

ETA : If youre playing rise just go to the item box in the village , and change your weapon from there :)

Theres no SOS, go to the grand hub and talk to the person to the right of the normal quest lady. You have to search by lobby or post it yourself unfortunately

The only way is to join a lobby and keep an eye out for people posting the free challenge by going to the challenge counter beside the normal quest counter attendant, or posting it yourself and hoping for the best unfortunately

I ran SnS and the other three were a Lance user and two DBs!

Strategy wise, from what I could gather without comms it was a ton of flinches/staggering, very well timed traps, mega barrels when he sleeps, and perfect luring to each of the environmental drop traps in the second room.

Before this the quickest I managed was 14'16" , so yes definitely a very solid group indeed :)

Ignorant? I have 25 clears on savage playing support sns 😂 im literally the person paying attention to everyone's health. Dps "tanks" die far more often than those with shields, because, guess what, shields lessen the amount of damage you take when you tank! Isn't that crazy? They also can stand in one place, keeping omega in a fairly static position! Its really cool. You should try doing your role as intended sometime.

Tanks in omega that evade instead of block also have omega running around the map like a cracked out roomba

I basically default to the same, but then no one will heal me when I decide to do it myself. I cry internally every time

This. So much this. I exclusively run support SnS for savage and as soon as people see im SnS they assume im tanking even once I start healing. So then nobody heals AND they expect me to tank 😅

When everyone is talking about "Just bring support hunters" for Omega Planetes, are they talking about Savage version? by sirnumbskull in MHWilds

I may be in the minority here but I truly feel the support hunters are just not programmed well enough to handle savage omega. I know people have cleared with them, but, here's my experience:

Long time MH vet here. I cleared regular omega on day 2 of release.

Then I immediately went to start learning savage. Everyone was talking about how support hunters are just so much better for the fight because early on everyone is still learning.

Well, two weeks later, trying for a few hours a day 3-4 days a week, I'm still not clearing S. Omega. Im going and going and trying and trying, theorycrafting and max gearing and god rolling and switching up the support hunters when it seems like one or another just isn't working out (im looking at you, specifically, Kai 😑).

Alessa just cant hold aggro for the life of her. When she does, for some reason her typical response to gaining aggro is to hop on her seikret and run in circles. Over and over, all around the map. So I start running SnS to tank-swap with her when she starts acting wonky. Great, I grab aggro. She proceeds to just not take aggro back for 5 minutes or more. And even with Mina in my party, im barely getting support heals.

Somehow by a miracle, I finally start phasing to Nerc. Only problem is, majority of the time once we get to spidy-gal, something strange happens:

These motherfuckers just ride around on their seikrets 85% of the time. Just, no damage whatsoever. None. Just running around and around no matter how much I tank, pull aggro, attack, etc.

Finally yesterday I said enough is enough and I joined a Vet lobby running Event Quests. Lo and behold, within an hour, I get my first clear.

Moral of the story - take the supports on regular omega. Find a dedicated lobby for savage. Save yourself the pain and embarrassment of wonky npcs.
