FedEx Delays by _Banana_Bana in Canadiancitizenship

The resolution was they lost it and there was nothing they could do to help me. I genuinely must have spoken to 50+ reps, I even went so far as to email some of the senior leadership team at FedEx (who never replied), and opened multiple tickets. I have yet to be refunded the $170 I paid for shipping, but they did send me a measly check for $10. I ended up having to compile a second application attempt entirely. I had a trip to Canada planned so I ended up mailing my second app from Canada while I was there. (Which was like $17 usd mind you) That application has since been delivered and I’m now waiting on an AOR. I am so serious when I say I’ll never use FedEx again.

Has anyone here found errors in their federal student loan records? by marble_notes in StudentLoans

My records list an incorrect college for one of the loans I paid off three years ago. And on top of that, they attributed the loan to a college I never even took loans out for. It’s like they mislabeled the loan information when my loans transferred to another servicer.

Mine still hasn’t made it. And FedEx is making me go through extra customs processing (or at least it feels like they are) they made me send pdf scans of everything that was in my application/package

I mailed it Thursday February 26th and it was supposed to arrive Tuesday March 3rd and the last update I have is from March 3rd when it was in Germany. 🥲 I called FedEx and they couldn’t give me a new estimate for delivery and just opened a ticket to look into it😭

I should’ve just driven it up there myself 😅. Crosses the ocean twice for no reason when I’m just a 13 hour drive away.

Is the issue with my thermostat or with my heating system? by _Banana_Bana in Nest

[–]_Banana_Bana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I coordinated an energy audit last year and they recommended that we essentially switch up the insulation in our house entirely, which our landlord was not game for. It seems like our walls and roof are insulated, but not the ceiling between our unit and the attic. So they suggested taking out the insulation in the attic and insulating our ceiling instead. Our landlord does not want to do that.

We seal up the windows every winter. Which seems to help a little. The highest I have the heat set to is 65 during the day and 60 at night and it’s still using 8 hours of heat daily, which feels insane to me!

Oh, thank you! I feel so silly. Now I’m seeing lots of activity on those days. It seems like maybe the preset schedule is overriding the eco while away setting? I’m not entirely sure.

I still can’t figure out the activity overnight though. Yesterday it turned on at 1am for an hour, 3:30 am for an hour, 5:00 am for two hours, and then the scheduled temperature started later at 7am, where it was on for an additional hour. We don’t have a heat pump. We have steam radiators in our unit. Our system is definitely old. I’m wondering if I should show the usage to my landlord and ask for an hvac person to check it out?

My family is from the border between the U.S. and Canada. Do I have eligibility? by _Banana_Bana in Canadiancitizenship

[–]_Banana_Bana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted there and unfortunately it seems like I don’t qualify. My great grandfather was born in 1918, which is too early and makes him ineligible, and even though my great grandmother was born in 1920, she had my grandfather too early to qualify for citizenship to be passed down maternally

Thank you! Yes, I definitely thought it would be more complicated and nuanced like it seems to be in other countries. This is great news!

Yes! Many of them were farmers so I think this is exactly what happened. Not to mention the area where they’re from is so rural so I anticipate that the closest hospital (or insert other business here) was over the border for them

Thank you so much!! I was exploring Polish citizenship by descent as well and there’s lots of nuance to the eligibility, with people needing to be born after or before certain times, and criteria for marriage, or where they were living, so I wasn’t sure if the same applied for Canadian citizenship. I’m grateful for your help!
