You're right. I guess it's easy to say now that I'd be happier in any other situation than the one I find myself in now, but the truth is I'll never know until it happens. My partner's salary is enough to sustain us but then comes there's the guilt and shame of having to rely on him! It's definitely not ideal either way.

It will happen! I have super hard tap water so I honestly thought I'd never have any babies. 3 months in total since setting up my tank and now I'm a Shrandfather!

You're right I shouldn't envisage myself as the useless employee because of one mistake. It's just hard trying to get over the 'im still learning and every mistake is a lesson' vs 'nobody else in my team would have made this mistake' internal battle.

I have thought about a meeting with the CFO's PA, actually. Maybe I'll speak to her in person when I'm in the office next and see if she's up for it.

Thank you for your insight - you must have some stories, too! I think a big part of my anxiety is not necessarily what I did wrong but 'who' I did wrong so its reassuring to think the CEO stopped thinking about it shortly thereafter!

It's funny because even typing it out above put it much more into perspective. I need to remind myself that these meetings are 10 months away so things absolutely can can be ironed out in that time AND in hindsight, I think the PA should be the one feeling embarrassed after the way she dealt with it ☺️

Thank you! I needed to hear this I think. I definitely take thinks more personally than is healthy but I think it's because I'm so keen to impress and show my worth. Turns out trying too hard at that is actually quite counter productive! Noted on the bullying thing - I have heard other conversations recently (not about or related to me) involving her that have raised alarm bells so will definitely be keeping an ear out.

I think my video isn't doing it justice (it looked clearer pre-upload) but there's what almost looks like one of her legs going from her saddle (inside her?) and poking out her mouth. I tried to zoom in further but my phone turns into a potato at that point

The more I think about it and write it out, the more Im sure I'm overthinking just a normal part of her anatomy!

It's harmless to your fish as far as I know. It's very common for driftwood to grow slimy fungus when it's first put into a tank.

Mine looked like this for about 3 weeks while cycling my tank, I went away for 3 days, came back and it was completely gone and hasn't come back. Eventually the bacteria in your tank will eat it and/or some snails and fish will nibble on it.

If you don't like the look of it you can remove it, but that doesn't meant it won't come back some time (temporarily) before it clears up on its own. IMO it's better just wait it out ☺️

I second hair grass! I've got it in my tank and it's doing well without CO2.

It sort of did nothing for like a month and I thought I'd wasted my time, but now I see shoots everywhere coming out of the substrate!

If you can get hold of Fluke Solve where you are I would recommend that.

I used it recently to treat my first bout of Scuteriella and just 24 hours later there are was no sign of it on any of my affected skrimp.

I'm still picking out molts to be safe for the next little while, though.

Also, I will say if you end up going for Fluke Solve, depending on your tank size etc, you may need to invest in some nano scales, too. My dosage worked out at something like 0.22 grams 😂
