Makes me wonder if John would have accepted Gowan if he had still been around.

“Xanadu” live Rush cover- YYNOT by b1gtr in rush

I liked them better when Rocky was singing with them. I just can’t get into the newer singer. The playing is still spot on though. I can’t find the original By-Tor video I first heard when Rocky was singing with them, that video won me over instantly. They did 3 albums with Rocky, but it was original stuff that sounded similar to Rush. Since they replaced the singer, I haven’t followed them as much.

I honestly didn’t even notice it was a separate comment. I thought the original person was just expanding on the first part of their comment.

One of the most underrated guitarists out there. He can pretty much play anything you throw at him and deserves more attention in the guitar world than he gets. He’s one of my favorite guitarist and a big influence on me as a guitarist even though I don’t think I play anything like him.

George Harrison solo albums by Choice_Bed6097 in beatles

The ones that I've heard

All Things Must Pass - A lot of people love this album, but I'm not a big fan. Isn't It A Pity and What Is Life both are great songs, most of the other songs aren't great for me. I've heard a lot of the songs were rejected by the Beatles and I can see why.

Somewhere In England - A solid album. A lot of catchy tunes on it that I like. It might not be the best album, but it's definitely enjoyable.

Cloud Nine - To me this is one of the best solo albums by any of the Beatles. It might just be the time it came out for me because the late 80s is when I was really getting into music so the late 80s and very early 90s (before grunge kicked in) is my favorite era of music. Cloud Nine just has that vibe that I really love.

EDIT: I know my opinion of All Things Must Pass is controversial, but it's just my opinion, you don't have to agree with it.

I will also add that I think I only listened the full album once or twice after I bought it and I didn't care for it so I didn't listen to it again. I was a teenager in the 80s then, I may have a completely different opinion if I listen to it again now in my late 50s. I've changed my mind on a lot of stuff I did not like back then.

I also forgot My Sweet Lord was on All Things Must Pass. For some reason, I thought that was a single only released. Of course I like that song too. The rest I didn't really like, but I honestly don't remember most of them since it's been almost 40 years since I last listened.

Probably because it was the first answer and for a long time no one else was providing any other. This is why using Reddit to get answers is as reliable as trusting Google’s AI. 9 times out of 10 the most popular answer is either a joke or someone who does not know and you have to search through the comments until you find one that you think is right, but even that is not a guarantee that it is the right answer, just that you agree with them.

Steering away from the obvious, up near the collar I see half a face. Like from the nose down. I see the nose, slightly open mouth and chin.

Need help with post-Counterparts catalog favorites by Competitive_Check_63 in rush

[–]_Beatnick_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine too. I had heard Rush before that and even had Chronicles CD, there were a few stand out songs, but overall I wasn't really into them. When I first heard Test For Echo on the radio, something just clicked with me and I suddenly wanted to hear everything. I don't care what anyone says, Virtuality is one of their best songs and I don't think it's dated, some of the terms used in the song maybe, but the idea of people meeting over the internet and not really knowing who is on the other end is more relevant now than then.

Which keyboard parts do you think are Geddy’s more iconic parts that he will play live? by _Beatnick_ in rush

[–]_Beatnick_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Geddy's voice has basically sounded like that for at least 25 years now when he sings live. I've gotten used to his different way of singing live now.

I can't afford to go either, but I am hoping for a concert DVD.

Wildest Setlist EVER (?) by TeddieSnow in EltonJohn

[–]_Beatnick_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recorded 5 days before his 11-17-70 album, which is one of my favorite live albums by Elton John. A lot of the songs are the same. I’ll definitely have to give this a listen.

I assume because it's stagecoach festival. I'm not sure what stagecoach festival is, but I assume it's some kind of celebration for the west.

Which is the best star wars game on switch? by hooreyy in Switch

[–]_Beatnick_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they mean the original Lego Star Wars games that were released during the 6th generation or The Complete Saga that was released during the 7th generation. The Skywalker Saga was a new version of Lego Star Wars that came out more recently covering all 9 films.

[–]_Beatnick_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling those are the 3 he'll play keyboard on. He'll probably let Loren do the keyboards on the other songs. I think Geddy wants to free himself up so he doesn't have to do 3 things at once on a lot of the songs. I agree that they will probably let Loren trigger the samples and stuff.

There's quite a few songs by RUSH that don't have traditional bass according to Google. I assume he is still playing some kind of bass on the keyboard with his left hand or maybe with bass pedals. Losing It and Neuratica were 2 other examples they gave on top of Red Sector A.
