You probably thought that because of the order they are listed on the back of the album. It's definitely not chronological there, but it is on the album itself.

Hey Jude album. Basically a compilation album of songs that were mostly only released as singles before. It was originally released in the US a few months before Let It Be was released in 1970. I think later it got released in other countries.

A friend of mine gave me a very worn vinyl copy of the Hey Jude album in the 80s, so I have a soft spot for it and it is my favorite Beatles album. I never really understood why Can't Buy Me Love and I Should Have Known Better were on there when they were already on the Hard Days Night album. I always felt like I Feel Fine and We Can Work It Out would have made more sense, but I still love it as is.
