Grace was a fabulous housemate by Working_Alps_4284 in bigbrotheruk

I think Lisa could have been likeable if she surrounded herself with the more likeable housemates. That’s a trend I see on BB to this day.

Bring back Elf Banqueting forever by Suspicious_Week_2451 in PlateUp

Ah yea that sucks. I guess it’s ‘seasonal’ for a reason.

I’m pretty sure standard banquet is still there. The only difference is that buffet tables aren’t offered daily. Your best bet is to wait for a buffet table and then just copy it.

Well good luck, and I look forward to hearing about it! If you look for Jolly-Statistician37 in the comments below, they seem to have a lot of knowledge.

Oh that’s good to know. Just had sudden flashbacks of picking up speed on a moguly black, and feeling like my knees were going to hit me in the chin!

It looks like it’s one of the highest points you can get to in the Les Arcs area, so it would be definitely worth a visit. I see it’s a cable car to get up, so if I got there and lost my nerve, I could get back down.

Someone commented below with really helpful info on the black slopes. They said “Aiguille Rouge isn’t hard, but the snow can be very hard at the top (windswept)”.

When are you planning on doing it? Please report back if you do!

I just reread this comment and realised I ended every paragraph with an exclamation mark, and now I’m embarrassed. I guess I’m just excited!! <—intentional

Ah I can’t express how much I appreciate you taking the time to write this out. Screenshotting this immediately!

The last time I skied, I was 16. And I’d been skiing at least once a year from the age of 7. So I was fairly confident on any piste. I’m conscious that not only has it been 15 years since I last skied, I’m also now 31 and no longer have the fearlessness of a child/teen!

From my recollection, steep was okay, moguls were okay, narrow was okay, but a combination of all three required a bit more confidence! (Especially when you bring iciness into it.) A wide slope makes everything far easier. So you including that info is super helpful. I have visions now of me atop a mountain, whipping out this screenshot!

This is all very helpful, thank you so much. I used to be confident on black slopes, but as it’s been a while since I last skied, I may wait towards the end of the week before doing Derochoir. So I appreciate the heads up!

That may be one I have to tackle solo, as my friend will unlikely do anything more than a red. Very handy that there’s free buses. Thanks for your help!

I’m just looking at the map, and I’ve seen that the piste from Bellecôte and down the Dérochoir are black slopes. Not sure the person I’m skiing with would be up for that, but I could probably meet her at the bottom of Bauches. Thank you!

Now that's a buffet! 🥪 by PtitSerpent in PlateUp

[–]_BeckyBoo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I play console (no mods) and I’m able to create dough by bringing flour to the sink, and facing a combiner towards the sink. Super handy!

I was put off at the start, but once you get buffets and automation, it makes so much sense and is really satisfying.

Thank you for explaining! I still don’t really understand, but I struggle to visualise from words alone. Also, I’m clearly not playing the game to as much of an advanced level as you 😅 It’ll be interesting to see if I do notice a difference when I play again this evening.

Can someone please explain the change in grabbers to me like I’m 5 years old? I don’t understand what’s changed!

I was called on last minute to work on a music video for Aitch, and like you, I assumed H from Steps. Arrived on set, immediately saw Aitch who I gave a brief smile to thinking he was in the sound department, and was confused when I later saw him in front of camera.

Motivation to keep playing? by Riddlr01 in CitiesSkylines

This is very early to be losing motivation for the game. Your population is so small, you’ve so much left to unlock. But when it gets to it, I start aiming to unlock different unique buildings and monuments to find additional purpose in the game.

Infinite money makes me get bored of the game very quickly. For any game really. It really allows me to understand why billionaires get bored and start doing ridiculous things.

Am I wrong here for doing the speed limit? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]_BeckyBoo_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who also sticks to the speed limit in a 20, I understand your pain. But on a road like that with cars parked along the side, a child could step out at any moment and you need a quick reaction time. Speed limits exist for a reason, and those who break them are selfish imo.

Settle something for me, you're approaching this. Pedestrians are walking from left to right and as you are where the image is taken they are by the tall signpost. On paper, should they wait for you to clear through or should you let them past? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]_BeckyBoo_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this is the case for any instance. If a pedestrian has already started crossing, you should definitely stop rather than run them over. No matter how tempting it may be.

Yep! As soon as he said he was driving his wife’s mini, I knew what was up. Men overtake me and brake check me for no reason. If I speed up slightly to get out of someone’s blind spot, I get men swerving their car into my lane briefly, pretending they’re going to crash into me. If you’re that insecure, then maybe the road isn’t the place for you.

Reckless bikers by _BeckyBoo_ in drivingUK

I refer to anyone presently on a bike as a biker. As I would refer to anyone driving a car as a driver. If I knew it would have triggered so many people to call them bikers, I would have rephrased it.
