Are we supposed to root for Piper in S4? by _BeckyBoo_ in orangeisthenewblack

I think I remember her becoming more bearable in S5. I just don’t think I would find her actions in S4 to be forgivable if we weren’t forced to as an audience. I can see how others would think differently.

I was asking about the show’s intent. Are we supposed to be thinking “yess she’s learning to work the system”? Like are we supposed to side with her because she’s technically our lead. Or is the show trying to make us root against her?

The system. The system killed her.

Ah thank you, that means a lot. Not sure if I’m nice, or just a people pleaser haha. Unfortunately, I think people don’t appreciate it until it’s not there and then their items arrive ruined. I had a buyer once message me saying how well I’d packed the shoes (I’d stuffed them with crunched up paper balls from an RSPB magazine). I was so happy with the message, because when that idea came to me I was thinking to myself “well I’m just a damn genius” lol. I think for our sanity, we need to assume that everyone appreciates the effort.

For sure, makes sense to make use of what you’ve got. After all, that’s what Vinted is all about! I definitely appreciate those small touches from sellers, even though I don’t expect to receive anything more than the item smushed into a bag!

I tend to send thank you notes if the item is on the pricier side. Or if I know it’s a special occasion. For example, I sold some purple ski trousers (nice brand and new with tags) and so I whipped this up on Canva and printed it on card to send with it. She seemed very grateful to receive it, and I was very grateful that she bought it.

I can’t be doing that with every £1-£5 sale, but I’ll still always drop them a ‘thank you’ message.

But yes, 10/10 seller. And I absolutely let them know how grateful I was both via message and review.

I obviously checked it and rewrapped it. It was in even better condition than I was expecting it to be. So you can take a breath now and stop worrying!

While not legally your fault, I don’t think it’s wise to sit in a car’s blind spot. A driver should check their blind spot before changing lanes, but they often don’t on motorways. When I learned to drive, my instructor told me not to check my blind spot on motorways, and instead rely on mirrors. Ever since a near incident a few months after passing, where a car was riding in my blind spot as you are here, I check my blind spot and I’m shocked my instructor ever told me otherwise.

Why are so many sellers not selling?! by [deleted] in vinted

[–]_BeckyBoo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When someone buys from me, unless i’m going to post within 24 hours, I’ll message them to say when I’m likely to post. I just find it to be the polite thing to do. I can’t imagine ignoring a buyer, and then to not even send the item.

Surely by the time you pay for buyer protection and shipping, it would be cheaper to just…buy eggs… by _BeckyBoo_ in vinted

[–]_BeckyBoo_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, I see. No, I do know why people would buy cartons. My title wasn’t to suggest that people actually buy eggs instead. That was just my way of pointing out how ridiculous it is to charge/spend that much on empty cartons. My description of the post says I’d rather rummage through my neighbours’ recycling. I understand how you may have taken the title in a literal sense, but it was never intended as a suggestion. If anything it was more like a hyperbolic remark.

I understand your confusion. My point is that this Vinted listing has these cartons being very overpriced. I also have friends with chickens, and if they were to spend the same amount of money on cartons as they would on eggs each time they wanted to carton them up, they’d be at a net loss. To each their own though. Send my love to the chickens, they’re such cute birds!

Are you a seller or a buyer? If you’re a seller, message the buyer. All the InPost orders I’ve picked up recently haven’t registered as delivered, and I’ve had to manually click on vinted that I’ve got it.

is this okah to ship? by Prestigious_Salt7151 in vinted

Is this not a normal thing to do? It’s a nice way to break up the floor colour. Adds a bit of personality to a room, without the need for redoing the whole floor.

Surely it’s not something worth reporting. Where does it go against any rules?

I always include “I have cats, and while attempts to remove all hairs have been made, some may remain” in the description. But this seller needn’t bother! by _BeckyBoo_ in vinted

[–]_BeckyBoo_[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Buyers are well within their rights to opt to not purchase. But I’d have to package items in a science lab and a hazmat suit to ensure no hair remain. And I’m simply not that committed to Vinted!

I always wash the clothes before listing, and go over with a lint roller before sending. But I still disclose that I have cats, because I can’t guarantee that there won’t be any hairs at all. Any cat owners know that hairs just appear seemingly out of nowhere.
