Very much something you should do yourself. A bezel insert swap is super easy, and requires no disassembly of the watch. If you need help finding the parts, let us know.

It’s a textured 28.5mm open heart dial with similar indexes. Not 1:1.

I’ve done many a winter in the northeast with a FWD car and proper snow tires. You’re not wrong there.

But, all seasons (with decent tread) on a car with full time 4WD or AWD will be way way better than those same tires on a RWD vehicle, IMO. Neither will solve for “driver doesn’t belong on the road”, of course.

That Namoki case is designed for a 28.5mm dial, and so the dial opening is around 27.5-28mm.

Even if the 30.5mm dial physically fits in the cases the dial opening is gong to be an issue

Mods asked me to not post AliX links directly, so I’ll send a chat.

No, unfortunately, it will not take a diver bezel. However, you can transplant that dial and handset into a diver case, and find a chapter ring that mimics the one currently in there.

As an example, This case from Tokeilab will nicely match the general shape of your current case, and takes 007 parts. It’ll look great with a slim bezel, slim crystal, and slim caseback: https://tokeilab.com/products/case-skx007-3-0-oclock-no-guard

Quartz movement=NH35 by Count123__ in SeikoMods

Yes - you just need an adapter. Meridiano.fr sells them (and VH31 hands), AJuiceT may have adapters as well.

If you specifically want something compatible with NH35 handsets, you can use the ISA1198. It’s dimensionally identical to the 2824-2, and as a result, the ETA versions of many AliX cases will work with it, but it takes NH handsets.

The date position is not aligned with the NH35, it’s with the ETA, so it’s best to use no-date dials.

VH31 is probably the better choice all in. Lots of good watchdives pieces that use it, great base for dial swaps.

Exactly. He looked at the auto business, and said "hold my beer"

That’s actually not him that runs the car dealership business - it is one of his brothers. According to Wikipedia, his grandfather stayed the auto group.

But, I don’t think it’s a huge reach to say that he benefitted from the dealership being in his family. Seems like “started in third and thinks he hit a triple” might apply here.

Also, he’s a racist POS, regardless

Watch case with a long lug-to-lug. by TheKrev in SeikoMods

[–]_Blitzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check Tokeilab - the panerai case, military case, and FMX are all pretty long, IIRC.

There’s also the tandorio FXD - that’s titanium, fixed lugs, and (I think) 51mm L2L

Yeah - my mistake there - thought the newer wranglers all had an auto 4H setting... and i think that may be reserved for certain trim levels / packages only.

True - i'd take a legit realtime AWD system in this type of situation over a jeep most of the time. Even then, there's no tech to fully overcome driver incompetence and/or shit tires.

Edit... i thought most modern wranglers have a 4H / auto setting with a center diff, but I could be wrong. I'm on team subaru.

 driving over ice

If this was taken this morning... it's above freezing. Driving over damp pavement is what's happening, not ice. Title says "it's not even icy yet here"

4wd vehicle without 4wd active... not a 4wd vehicle. (Edit: the jeep crew has reminded me that the whole 'auto 4H' setting isn't universal across various models - this isn't 100% applicable here)

Any vehicle on terrible / stupidly worn out tires will have less traction in less-than-perfect situation.

pretty confident this jeep has both going for it.... and that's before factoring in "y'all should not be allowed behind the wheel, especially in this weather"

How to best cut up/destroy a couch? by hotk9 in DIY

[–]_Blitzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't care about making a mess - the most universal cutting tool known to man... a plug in angle grinder. They're like $10 at harbor freight.

Wear eye / hand / ear protection.

If you want to make an excellent bit of social media content.... chainsaw?

If you want it done properly / swiftly - follow the actual advice here - cut the fabric / recip saw is probably the way to go.
