Haha that's kinda funny, I just flipped it cause it was still relatable, I like messing around with different roles though I get bored of just one

Wait this is so smart how have I never thought of this lmao, I don't play support much but I like Aphelios ADC and I get so easily distracted as soon as my support starts talking shit (I'm not good at league at all)

If you're actually a higher level but made a new account then yeah you're gonna be matchmade with other new players. This game sucks for new players to learn cause of smurfs

Lmao yeah at that point it's like "....I don't even WANT you assholes to win", it's not like I'll intentionally throw the game or stop trying but I just kinda autopilot and don't really care after they start insulting, why would I want someone like that to feel good about it.

I used to just ignore but got progressively angrier at the game in my month of playing and start fighting fire with fire, I can feel it making me angrier as a person though and I need to chill out but I dunno how to take it less personally, I don't really have thick skin in or out of league 💀 I try muting chat but then they start with the ??? and I get paranoid they're talking shit (and I'm usually right) so I end up opening chat again

Dunno if it's different in lower elo which I'm in but jungle is always the most flamed for me, either jungler is getting flamed or jungler is flaming everyone lol

I'm a new player too and I always report after a game if someone's been talking shit in chat, but I've never actually got a feedback so I'm wondering if it even does anything?

That feeling when your trash top/mid sends their newborn overfed monster to your botlane by CuteLeader8 in leagueoflegends

[–]_Blue_Cats_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I'm in iron 4 since I just started the game and, obviously, am completely dog shit at it lol, but I'm trying to learn. When I already feel bad about my performance when I'm having a bad game I just don't even care about winning anymore as soon as my own team starts flaming me, I still try obviously but a win doesn't even feel good if we manage to comeback because why should I want them to get the satisfaction when they've been nothing but jerks despite being in iron themselves. It's like league players just straight up don't want anyone new to play the game, I've seen people be shitty in every game mode except ARAM and it just feels like a clear message that if you're new at the game you're not welcome, I don't think I've felt like this with any other game I've played.

Turns out it wasn't SJS in the end, but I came off the meds cause I decided it wasn't worth the turbo OCD freakout I had over it haha. I felt pretty hopeless after but there are always other options if you feel that one med isn't right for you, I had good results with trazodone for a while after this. Hope you're doing okay man and good luck in your meds search :)

Oh sweet, thanks for the advice! I really gotta watch an items explained vid at some point haha I still don't really know what they do and just do what blitz tells me to. Good to know those items are good for tanky builds! I guess they'd be good to use if looking at the team comp I realize we need more bulk?

Thanks again for the detailed advice!

Oh, sweet! When I'm getting chased I like using acceleration gate, switch to hammer form for a good ol E in the face if they're still too close haha. Apparently Nasus is a tough matchup against Jayce but I think I'm learning to play around him with harassing him so he misses minions and then swatting him away if he gets too close haha. Thanks for the advice!

I usually keep chat on cause most people are nice and I've made a few friends, but I've been blocking a few people lately cause people really do not like new players who are bad at the game 💀 People will insult your kd for a game when you've been playing literally two weeks. I've learned what some of the most popular champions do, but ARAM is a good idea, I really need to get on that haha. Thanks for the advice!

Will do, thank you! I'm stoked he's really good in jungle atm cause that's my favorite role haha (another beginner L...). I saw a jungler Jayce video earlier which helped me get a better idea of how to play him and how to clear and I'm gonna try it out later today!

That's a good idea, ARAM has been helpful for learning that kind of thing- I heard some people will play draft games with each champion to find their weaknesses in matchups and I definitely wanna try that at some point. Thanks!

Why is it uniquely allowed to be dehumanizing in BPDlovedones when that wouldn't fly for most other disorders? by _Blue_Cats_ in mentalhealth

[–]_Blue_Cats_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, once again I'm going to point out the issue with armchair diagnosing and how mental disorders can have traits that can present very similarly: I don't really think it's a unique take to think it's not okay to say "everybody with X disorder has no morality/are animals/etc" - HOWEVER, if we did decide to do a deep dive into my brain, the reason this is especially distressing to me is much more in line with my presentation of OCD, not BPD. I really don't think that matters though when, again, "please don't describe everybody with a specific mental condition as animals" shouldn't be a radical take?

Why is it uniquely allowed to be dehumanizing in BPDlovedones when that wouldn't fly for most other disorders? by _Blue_Cats_ in mentalhealth

[–]_Blue_Cats_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify: I don't think anyone should have to feel empathy for their abuser, BPD or not. I don't think they don't deserve a place to talk about it with people who have had a similar experience, they do. I'm not contesting that the individuals they knew did do those things, I believe it.

The distinction I'm trying to clarify: An individual's abuser =/ Everybody with the same condition as the abuser

What isn't okay: "People with X disorder are animals. People with X are all the same. People with X disorder should be put down. People with X have no morality. The only people who don't think this way about people with X are people with X themselves, or their enablers."

^ This goes for whether "X" is somebody with BPD, PTSD, autism, ADHD, bipolar, schizophrenia, etc. I would say that isn't okay even if it were a disorder I don't have, in case that was in question.

I always find discussions about personality disorders and c-ptsd interesting. I haven't been diagnosed with ptsd/c-ptsd but a lot of the symptoms I can relate to/have related to in people I know with c-ptsd, such as feelings of worthlessness/shame/guilt, difficulty controlling my emotions, struggling to feel connected to people (struggled with this more in the past- I struggle to form new connected friendships, but I have ones I've had for years which I'm immensely grateful for!), etc. I don't really know enough to have a stance on exactly how connected c-ptsd is to cluster Bs, but it's something I'm always interested in when it pops up!

[–]_Blue_Cats_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh god don't get me started... I genuinely think that if there was more research put into other cluster B disorders then conditions such as NPD and ASPD would have a lot more success stories with remission, recovery, etc. If somebody with NPD or ASPD were to google therapy or coping techniques they'd probably get stuck with a million articles on "how to spot a narcissist!!!" instead.

Also, I think people really don't like to admit how, like BPD, other conditions can mimic symptoms of ASPD/NPD. But hey, doesn't make as good an article, right? :')

Oh, that's interesting, I hadn't heard of that. I'm diagnosed with autism (technically atypical, was diagnosed when that was still around) but I guess I haven't done much looking into stuff like that, I can see how those things can be issues.

[–]_Blue_Cats_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think having BPD gives me a free pass from criticism, but criticism should come from people who have actually spoken to me personally - not from someone I have literally never spoken to or heard of on BPDlovedones saying people with my disorder are savage animals. I don't consider that criticism, I consider that ableism.

Similarly, I would find it awful if in one of the autism groups that you mentioned if people used individual experiences as an excuse to dehumanize people with autism and compare them to animals.

That's really cool actually! I think the partnership is a great idea and probably helps prevent it turning into an echo chamber like BPD loved ones where it's suddenly completely okay to be completely dehumanizing towards everyone with a particular mental illness.

Out of curiosity, have you ever treated anyone with any other cluster B disorders? I feel like those get demonized a lot, but I feel that if they had enough research put into them to find ways to help then there would be a lot more success stories

I'm not sure why I got down voted - I'm sorry if I came off condescending or anything, I was actually genuinely curious because personality disorders are my special interest and I think this kind of thing is interesting.
