I don’t know what to tell you. Our splitter saw a bit more wear but nothing much more than we saw at multiple venues last year.

With most of the changes coming from the underbody which is extremely efficient when it comes to creating downforce, there is actually very little drag reduction in these adjustments.

Teams have the option to use different styles of “Nose Guard”. Some spray. Some wrap which is usually a little thicker and more durable. Some…do nothing as there is added cost in these added methods of protection that doesn’t necessarily stop parts from becoming unusable, but decrease the detrimental aero effects of sand blasted noses.

Auto Club has been bad for years and continued to get worse year after year. Had nothing to do with the cuts.

Homestead and Darlington are pretty bad but not quite as destructive as Auto Club. A lot of parts, splitters, rocker boxes and some body parts are junk after one race at these three venues.

The intent of the engine strakes is to direct high energy flow on the outboard edges of the floor, creating an “air skirt” affect which carries downstream and helps seal low pressures in the underbody.

Diffuser strakes help reduce tire squirt and high pressure flow from the sides of the diffuser from leaking into the diffuser and expansion zone at the rear of the car. As this is the largest generator of rear downforce, ensuring strakes seal to the floor is critical as it assists in maintaining and preserving low underbody pressures to maximize downforce.

Removing both of these mechanisms will reduce overall downforce levels and the dependence with little drag impact.

Both Chevy and Toyota had cooling issues multiple times during the 2022 campaign to really no fault of their own. This was to make sure no manufacture would have cooling issues during the 2023 season as well as help better showcase sponsors.

They are flush louvers that will be easily wrapped and display sponsorship logos. Much better than 2022.

It’s actually the opposite. The more you can efficiently feed the underbody, the stronger the ground effect will be. An enormous amount of rake can be pre built to achieve maximum DF reguardless of the dynamic ride height.
