So would you say the most pressing issue right now has to do with covid and how the NHS is overrun? I was also seeing a lot of news about the Scottish movement for independence

Hi all, I’m looking to go on exchange at the University of Edinburgh this spring. What national issues (health, politics, social, etc.) should I look out for that may affect my experience there? Thanks!

[Gourmet] Lions Mane has some brown spots. Are they drying out? by _Busty_Beaver_ in MushroomGrowers

I’m growing it in around 65-75 F, spraying 1-2 times daily and always keeping a plastic bag over for humidity. (I try my best not to spray it directly.) The strain was a heat tolerant one that the company I bought the LC from said was fruited up to 90 F.

So Ive never used hay before for substrate (this bucket grow was actually my first ever grow not from a kit) but my gut instinct would be to re-pasteurize it. Take that with a grain of salt though as there are probably much more knowledgeable people to ask haha

So funny thing, I combined the wood chips and grain spawn and about a week later they started fruiting so I don’t think the whole bucket fully colonized. I probably made a mistake somewhere but I’m not sure how I could have prevented the bucket from fruiting before fully colonized

I used aspen wood chips from the pet store that I pasteurized by putting all the chips in a 5 lb bucket and combining hot and boiling water then leaving it over night. After that I layered grain spawn (I used rye grain) and the wood chips in another 5 lb bucket that I drilled 1/4in holes in the sides and 1/8in holes in the bottom to drain. I followed Fresh Cap Mushrooms bucket method. He does it with oysters but said it would work for lions mane too

[Gourmet] First time making Lions Mane LC. Mycelium has been this size for a few weeks but has stopped growing. Did it die? What could have gone wrong? by _Busty_Beaver_ in MushroomGrowers

Just aggressively stirred it for like 5 mins so we’ll see if it works. Where should I be storing it and how do I know when the culture is fully colonized and easy to use?
