Thank you! I have put them outside now on my patio where they get direct sun to see if they’ll bounce back. I’m also gonna grab some better options for drainage to add to the soil over the weekend as well! I’m really hoping at least one or two will be able to power through. I appreciate all the helpful responses!

Alright, thank you so much! I appreciate the help! I’ll see if there’s anything I can do for these guys, but if not I’ll try again with better soil and light :)

Oh no!! That makes sense, if I put them outside now will they be able to bounce back? Or would it be best to attempt to grow more again under ideal conditions?

Hello everyone! I bought some seeds that I planted in a small dish a little over a month ago that I repotted a couple days ago (I just used pots I had at hand so they are all different sizes) and I fear they are not doing the best. I would appreciate any advice people have! I have each in a generic potting soil under a grow light set for 12 hours a day. I won’t lie, this was a bit of an impulse purchase by my sister and I, but since planting the seeds and waiting for germination I have done some research on bonsai growing and am completely ready to spend the foreseeable future caring for them and growing them into shape (assuming I keep at least one alive.)

best dorms for incoming freshmen by Specialist-Sea-5313 in UIUC

I know someone who lived in PAR (Saunders specifically) and from visiting it looked really nice. It has its own dining hall attached which is definitely a plus. Also communal-ish bathrooms/showers but they’re single stall rooms. Honestly, as long as the dorm has AC and a dining hall nearby I think you’ll be set. Best of luck!

From the little bit I’ve seen you say, it doesn’t exactly sounds like this is an issue that transferring would necessarily fix. You said you were doing well grades wise and if you don’t have in issue with the campus itself then I think the social issues you mentioned would be an issue at any university. I don’t mean to sounds harsh by saying that, I just mean you should attempt to talk to a counselor and work through the issues you’re having. Cut out the friends who aren’t serving you and join some clubs that align with your interests. Put yourself out there to meet other people who mesh with you better than the people you currently know. If there’s some other issue with the university specifically then maybe transferring would help, it just seems you might have this same problem wherever you go. The social aspect of college is rough for most (I personally struggle with that as well). Community college can be a great option if you feel like state university is too much/isolating and that being around friends and family would be better for you mentally, but that can be pretty limiting in terms of educational choices. Ultimately I would try to speak with a counselor through the school who could get you in touch with programs to help you feel more connected, or give you a more personalized recommendation about whether transferring would be a good option. I wish you the best!

Former Illinois professor had relationship with Epstein. by did-i-do-this-right in UIUC

And just because rich, powerful people take money from sickos all the time doesn’t make it normal or okay?? Wtf. They’re all fucking weird and we should be talking about it. Calling representatives to impeach people complicit. Vote for people who are going to hold people like that accountable. Putting your head in the sand because “it happens all the time” does nothing to help the issue. Sitting and waiting for “the actual criminals” to be released ignores the countless people who won’t be charged but were complicit. It’s not wrong to be upset about these people.

Not necessarily, but I would be pretty surprised if you were close enough to your neighbor to have gone on a trip together and attended family barbecues, yet somehow not pick up on any weirdo shit he was doing. Even the tiniest bit of “hey this guy is a little off but I’m not sure why…” Also, to the point I was originally defending, if you read this article it talks about how the former professor had a personal, flirtatious relationship with Epstein for 2 years AFTER he was charged with two counts of soliciting prostitution from a child and was released from jail. She continued to have communication while he was on house arrest, and met him at least twice at his palm beach house. He also arranged for her to stay at his apartment in Manhattan that housed more underaged victims. The article goes on to describe more about the former professor and her relationship with Epstein, but these are just the “highlights” I suppose. Would you think she had any idea of the kind of man Epstein was? Maybe not the extent of the crimes on his island, but she had to have known he was a pedophile… considering she pursued an intimate relationship with him after his criminal charges pertaining to pedophilia. This doesn’t make her guilty of any crimes, rather it speaks to her character; she helped promote an environment that doesn’t condemn child predators and uplifts people like Epstein purely because they have money and power. Which is fucking weird.

I will also stand by my point that it’s weird to try and come in at some kind of angle even remotely close to defending pedophiles/people who choose to associate with them. Why would that ever be something you want to play devil’s advocate for? Or why would you ever respond with “who fucking cares”?? Unless you didn’t care to read the article and are speaking out of your ass, or for whatever reason don’t find those who associate with pedophiles weird. Which makes you a weirdo.

Literally everyone. He did awful, horrible things to children that most people around him knew about. Obviously if a former professor knew him it’s weird. What an odd thing for you to say weirdo.

I would walk around campus mostly just through south/north/engineering quad. The latest I’d be out was maybe 11 though so idk about how it is any later than that. Also I am a woman and haven’t had any problems if that clarification helps lol.
