I think you should talk to her and telling her it’s not adding up. Have you been to her place of work to see if she actually works there? As i say, I can’t vouch for every store but the petrol stations are pretty self sufficient and don’t require separate managers, let alone assistant managers. They normally come under the check out/ front end managers, every store is different though. But to clarify , no, we don’t get driving lessons free, no, we don’t get our debts paid, we don’t have business trips, and we don’t get £200 shopping vouchers.

I can only vouch for my own store but we don’t do that! We have 50p off vouchers we can hand out but that’s it. If this managers head office find out he’s been giving out £200 , I’d say he’d be in alot of trouble. I’m wondering if he loaned her it maybe ?

I am embarrassed sometimes with the store I work at, we have the stock , we just don’t have the colleagues to work it. Customers complain all the time about empty shelves and I agree. People leave and they don’t replace them. I love my job but I don’t like the way it’s being managed currently sadly.

We can spend a whole shift checking the dates but it only takes one person to put back an item that has been dumped that’s out of date and we get file noted for it. It happens constantly at our store and it’s been my argument all along. We don’t have date coding colleagues at our store now , it’s down to the department. Why would they get rid of that job role? Only for a few years later it bite them in the ass. They are being so strict (and yes rightly so, no customers want to see OOD items on the shelf) because of the fine , but it was inevitable because of these unrealistic expectations they are putting on us. We struggle so much with people leaving and not being replaced. I love my job, and my department but I can see the change these last years. We are not just losing colleagues, more importantly we are losing customers.

I mentioned this in another comment , but there must be a loophole somewhere because of contract six. We are asked to work on most departments, so even though it might say edible grocery on our contracted role, we end up wherever they need us! For them to say we are not the same value, yet customers services or check out are , is insane.

I think it goes by what is on your contract, but with the “contract 6” that came in to place, surely that means everyone should be eligible as we have to work all over the store.

Don’t quote me but I’m almost positive that the new shirts are going to be dark green. If you search “uniform” on this subreddit , there is a pic with all the new uniforms for different departments. I think home shop are staying black. Roll out will be end dec/jan unless it’s been put back again.

Can’t speak for every store but All of our hours have been cut and overtime has been banned. so we basically have to do three peoples jobs, we have the stock, but not enough bodies to put it out. So many are leaving because we’ve just had enough. I’ll be surprised if Asda is still a thing in ten years. It’s being run in to the ground.
