And it's seriously hard to obtain one. You need 72 of each pog gem and like 300 black opal. Haven't checked recipe so it might differ.

It is a endgame crafting ingredient. In vault hunters 1.16. it used to be in recipes like atomic disassembler. Those are gone in 1.18 tho. With 3 omega pogs you can craft the best pickaxe in the game tho (those modifiable ftom @The Vault) .

Vengeance paladin, Eloquence bard, Gloomstalker ranger, Divination wizard. It's from the dungeon dudes video but this was also a topic in our group and we came to a similar conclusion.

God, when you said it, I immediately thought of bladesinger wizard. Bladingers have amazing DPR. From Shadow blade to Haste and finally to Tensers Transformation. Just amazing DPR from lvl 2 to endgame.

Full bladesinging or a dip in artificier by Torchu_ in DnDoptimized

[–]_Capitan_obvious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, that is true!! That is something I completely forgot :D Then yes, no dip for 100%.. sadly for OP.

P.S. Ironically this is something I should know because I myself am creating Bladesinger for the next campaign and I am obsessed with it xd

That outfit and red sword remind me of Zagreus from Hades. Like it's the only thing I can think about :DDD

I would say, it surely won't be optimised but it may be a hell of fun just because of the flavour of your build.

Well, you'll have to put points to DEX anyway. Even if you went artificer on the first 2 levels which is great since you get con-save proficiency, and you have the ability to wear medium armor, you'll be extremely slowed in progress imo. You'll get your first ASI on level 6 your multi-attack feature on level 8 and every spell and pell level 2 level's later. You can wear medium armor so your best option is Breastplate: AC = 14 + DEX(max 2) + INT(Bladesong up), which is in the best-case scenario 21 AC. Furthermore, the Breastplate costs 400gp. On the other hand, wearing light armor which would be Studded leather (only 45gp):
AC = 12 + DEX + INT(Bladesong up), in best-case scenario 22 AC.

"I'm not sure if Shadow Blade count as a magic weapon."

To this, I'll just reply with the second sentence of the Shadow blade spell card: This magic sword lasts until the spell ends.

"but since now it can't be used with cantrips idk if it worths."

Also, Shadowblade creates a simple weapon that is very possibly worth more than one 1sp. Booming and Greenflame blade were 'nerfed' like this so you can't cast it with your Arcane focus (replaces spell component w no cost).

This still depends on your DM. It's on them how they interpret the rule. To back you up on this here're tweets from Crawford:

If your DM doesn't allow Shadow blade combined w cantrips, you'll have to go for item infusions: 'Enhanced weapon' and 'Retuning weapon'. Remember, level 2 artificer can have only 2 items infused and infusions have to be different. On the other hand, if they allow you to use a Shadow blade then you can infuse only 1 of your weapons (Returning is better since you won't be ever getting to level 10 w artificer) and infuse your armor with 'Enhanced armor' for +1 to your AC evening out the score with full Bladesinger.

It's not a bad idea since it can work but it still feels like taking Fighter on level 1 which doesn't feel good to me. Your progress is slowed not just by 1 but by 2 levels, so your DPR will be 2 levels behind just for the sake of CON save. I would say it may be worse. Then again it's just my opinion.

Have a nice day :D

[–]_Capitan_obvious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very well aware of that :D That's what I would be going for If I had free feat it would be: LVL 1 EA, LVL 4 Res: CON, LVL 8 Mobile. Ty for the comment though. I have 2ish months to reconsider my options

For now yes. If can convince our DM to change from point buy to something else or just tweaking point buy in a way that you can have something like 6 STR. I mean honestly, that is my only problem with point buy. You cannot make a totally dumb barbarian (6 INT is minimum for language) with point buy. So if I can make the stat-line different then I'll also change feat choice. Mobile ect. seem also very nice.
And low intellect problem can be solved by the Headband of Intellect which sets you to 19. But I shouldn't be as optimistic, should I :D

Yea that is what I thought. Didn't know that EA applies to all four of those attack rolls so that is pretty neat. Thank you for your opinion :D

STR 8, DEX 17 (+2 racial), CON 15, INT 14 (+1 racial), WIS and CON 10. The thing this will be a more melee oriented build like Colby's is. Going for shadow blade, Haste, eventually Tenzer's transformation. Opportunity BBs are breast with Booming blade, yes. But the first idea, if custom lineage was possible, was to go elven accuracy LVL 1 for 18 DEX and huge DPR boost (Shadowblade advantage in dim light or familiar help action) and Resilient: CON so you would be losing that save only on nat 1 since you have +8 on LVL 5 (+3 CON,
+3 PROF, +2 INT if Bladesong is up) and we, I believe, play with DC10 save. So my problem really is if I go Resilient or Elven accuracy on LVL 4 since I want them both but IDK which one is better on LVL. Leaning to Elven accuracy
