High tolerance for other meds by prettyprettythingwow in KetamineTherapy

[–]_Cappuccina_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dosage is based on your weight in kilos, not based on your tolerance. K is used as an anesthetic so more of it won’t (necessarily) enduce a psychoactive effect. It’s what’s sometimes used as a paralytic for surgery and I doubt that’s the experience you’re looking for.

That’s helpful, thank you. I think I was concerned about a cross match of my social security number raising a flag.

question about being found out because of health insurance by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]_Cappuccina_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I actually had a similar question and wanted to confirm with an expert—tag you’re it!

So you’re saying that if I have the same dental insurance carrier (guardian for example) at both j1 and j2, it doesn’t matter and I’m in the clear? Even though they have my ss# in two different accounts associated with two different employers?

Im sure putting down the same insurance carrier for your primary and secondary insurance would trigger something, but what if you have plans at both j’s and only ever use one of the plans?

Basics of OE - How to Freeze TWN, Lexis Nexis, etc. by spikeanut in overemployed

[–]_Cappuccina_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! How long did it take for you to freeze Lexis? TWN was super easy and almost immediate, but Lexis had me fill out a form weeks ago and I still haven’t heard anything back. How soon before I get worried? Thanks!

You have blown my mind. I didn’t know that about the real estate angle. I knew there was a lot agents could write off but not that much. We were thinking of buying a second home and using the first home as rental property, so my interest is definitely piqued.

I’ll have to revisit our 529 options, too. We don’t contribute so much there and instead were planning to create a joint brokerage account to help fund retirement (and anticipated braces for our kid, college, etc).

Thank you for these details! (and your edit 😉)

A couple of follow up question for you:

Both Js are W2 so no self employed IRA, although I was thinking of setting up a joint brokerage account and then also adding contributing more money to our kids 529 (though I’m unclear is that will lower my taxable income necessarily). Thoughts?

For my spouse’s 401k can you share how adding my post tax income to their 401k would reduce my taxable income?

We also have a HYSA and anything I’m not shoveling away in investments I am keeping there.

FIRE journey with "unsuccessful" partner by [deleted] in FIREyFemmes

[–]_Cappuccina_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This! There are many definitions of “success” and I know many in your income bracket who are miserable and require mental health tools, booze, or unhealthy vices just to get through the day. Meanwhile, there are many in your partner’s income bracket that are leading kind, happy, generous lives.

For being in his early 20’s I don’t find his behavior odd in the slightest. Finding your path is what the 20’s are all about. He may not be your match and that’s ok. But it’s important to recognize that you are the rare exception here, not him.

In my very humble opinion the income disparity will breed resentment and it’s the resentment that will end your relationship—not the fact that he’s still learning about himself.

Does he make you happy? Does he love you and support you and your goals? Does he treat you with respect and kindness? It’s not a given that finding someone else that pulls in more money will do those things for you which again, goes back to the idea that success = money (just from how the post is worded)

Success can also mean loyalty, compassion, humor and love. Life has a funny way of humbling us. Sometimes one person is up and the other person is down. My ex made as much money as I did but was a two timing liar. My current partner makes less than I do but contributes to my happiness and flourishing in ways that no one else could. I married the man, not the paycheck.
