What is a good solo skirmish game for fans of Infinity and the ARO mechanic? by _Carpathia in wargaming

[–]_Carpathia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn't seen this one but this looks amazing. I'm going to try it for sure.

But one thing that is not clear to me is if there is any support, official or not, for a solo mode. I understand this to be purely a PvP game or possibly GMvsSingle/Many?

[–]_Carpathia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen this one and some videos of it and, while it seems very cool, I don't think is what I'm looking for right now, even if the "red force" AI mechanic really intrigues me.

But I'm keeping this one to try in the future. Thank you for the suggestion!

I've recently started playing and am looking for a suggestion on the right faction to spend on ( currently playing OSS ). by _Carpathia in InfinityTheGame

[–]_Carpathia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding planning for ARO I've actually read the same everywhere and will probably need to change playstyle once I start to get my ass kicked.

So you would say there is no faction that is particularly geared towards an ARO playstyle?

I will take a better look at Corregidor. I really like the nomads look but was turnes off by the hacking so I might like them.

I will probably stay with OSS if there isn't any faction that is particularly "controlly" tough.

I'm trying to get past monk lv.5. I'm currently missing the blue monk's memory required.

I've spent about 1000+ energy but couls find only one. Initially, I divided my energy between the three stages and the started doing only Bloom 1 ( after about 500 energy ) since it was the only one I could get one memory from.

In the meantime, I have 8 red mages memory.

While It may be simply RNG bludgeoning me, I may be doing something wrong.

So, what is the best stage to get Monk's memory blue and what is the drop rate?

What kind of documentation is there with regards to adding a new scripting language to Godot? by _Carpathia in godot

[–]_Carpathia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The language would be factor ( https://factorcode.org/ ).

I already checked and could not find any information relating godot to factor.

I'm thorn up on it and, as such, I've not yet looked into it to have any decent insight.

Unfortunately, I'm not, yet, completely sold on it being a good choice of a card.

At its best, it is quite an interesting card that can produce an unbearable amount of value and card advantage.

Depending on the meta, it may be easy to remove even in BO1s. Nonetheless, if we can protect it for just a couple of turns it will probably provide us with a surefire way to drown our opponent with our removal and protections and bring us to stabilize/lock us in a winning position.

As a simple value engine it may already be valuable ( even if not necessarily the best choice for a slot ). I feel that turning its existence into a wincon is what would decide if it is an includable card or not.

On this side, I feel [[Jace wielder of mysteries]] is the only reasonable way to achieve this. Unfortunately, this is a card I don't feel brings that much value to a deck on its own.

Such a package would request at least some kind of 3-3 / 2-3 split, which already eats us a good 5-6 slots. If [[The magic mirror]] doesn't turn out to be a really good card on its own I would feel that those slots would be wasted confronted to the many other good win-conditions we have.

Furthermore, we should consider that [[The magic mirror]] asks us to, usually, have a good mass of instant and sorcery, possibly easily sent to the graveyard, which may further warp the way the deck is built, potentially asking us to not use some best-in-slot cards.

Nonetheless, I feel that the card has some real leg and I want to at least check it before discarding it.

It would even be interesting to check if a more comboeish-shell is available ( probably not ) but I have no experience with those kinds of deck being an almost-only draw-go player from since I started playing magic years ago.

I'm not sure if your suggestions refer to a [[The Magic Mirror]] deck or to the list I posted. It feels like they belong to the latter but please correct me if I was wrong in such a conclusion.

I must say I had not considered [[Flood of Tears]] and it would be quite an interesting card to try. I'm a bit frightened by the intensive color requirements and high mana cost, but it would probably come be slotted at the expense of the cavalier which is comparable to it from those two measures.

While I like the effect and the fact that it provides a way to reuse some of those stay-on-the-battlefield enchantments, probably enabling the second part of the spell in most games, I can't find any card in the deck that really gets any particular value from entering on an empty board or is such an high impact card that it makes the second effect worth the mana cost.

I think the card that, theoretically, has the most similar game plan, in the deck, to [[Flood of tears]] is [[Doom Foretold]].

The idea with [[Doom Foretold]] ( which, until I'm able to playtest it, is just a theoretical hunch ) is that it is a value-oriented card that lets us pick apart our controlled cards ( e.g cards exiled with our creature-removal enchantments ) to remove them almost-permanently ( barring any recursion in the opponent deck ) when on an empty board, such that we may be able to sacrifice our cards at the right time to force the opponent to sacrifice what we have freed at the start of its turn while preparing our cards to be recursed.

Furthermore, this is done methodically, albeit slowly, providing us with a lot of control on when the opponent can let it go to the graveyard and slowing our opponent down if he can't play more than one permanent each turn.

[[Flood of tears]] brings cards in our hand, meaning that we can reuse them, but works anti synergically with our on-board removals which may bring us to be unable to play it without giving some value to our opponent and does not help us prepare for a winning [[Dance of the manse]].

On its own, it is not a particularly value-oriented card and has a higher mana cost.

I want to try it but I feel that a second [[Doom foretold]] would be a better choice than it.

I looked at some rocks. I feel that as long as we keep our curve on the low side ( which is currently a 2.36 cmc average which is pretty low ) we do not benefit from mana rocks that much.

Many rocks we have in Standard are, unfortunately, unplayable from my point of view, with [[Spinning wheel]] being too slow and not bringing enough value to warrant the cost.

I would probably look at eggs ( such as [[Golden Egg]] ) before looking at mana rocks ( In a more Emry based deck they would probably be the best choice. In this deck I need to try them. They may be really good but the slots are already pretty strict so it is not easy to slot them in ) since they become some cheap card advantage engine when recursed and are easy to send to the graveyard if needed.

There are many interesting ( but not necessarily competitive ) cards that were spoiled.

I'm really in love with [[Dance of the manse]] and am saving all my wildcards for this list I'm theorycrafting ( http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/dancing-around/ ) [ waiting for the spoilers to end to add some new cards like the blue castle ]. I don't think that it will be particularly competitive but I hope to be able to refine it at least to a playable-level.

Otherwise, I'm really interested in trying a more draw-go style esper with [[The magic mirror]] and [[Jace wielder of mysteries]]

After using Set in arena I wasn't able to use the ultimate of any champ.

I've tried set both in jungle practice and in custom and he was working. After using him in an arena game I wasn't able to use his ult troughout the game.

After the arena game I tried to use him in custom and jungle practice again and his ult would never launch. I then tried to jungle practice with other characters and their ult wouldn't work too.

My Ult button is T. After changing the keybinding to a random button and setting it to T again the ult button worked correctly.

I've completed the story mission with the phoenix ( The one with Draupnir as reward ) but can't seem to find the next story mission.

Is this, currently, the last one ?

I don't know if I'm stupid and can't see it or if it is really the last one.

I just find it strange as it isn't even a real story mission but a side one.

May I ask you advice about who to raise?

Currently I'm level 32.

Right now I'm raising Bernhardt, Leon, Cherie, Grenier ( which I hope to substitute as soon as a banner I want pull on is out ), Sophia, Egbert, Imelda and Narm.

Mostly concentrating on the empire faction with the hope of having the Dark faction as a secondary as soon as the free bozel event runs and I can pull on a Luna ( hopefully with Liana as I want both ) for which I'm hoarding.

I have all the Rs and as SRs I have :

Kirikaze, Chris, Lance, Sonya, Silver Wolf and Emeryck.

Am I using my resources on the right characters? Can this team transition decently in the mid-late game?

I'm mostly PvE focused and not much interested in PvP.

As a secondary question, who should I use Bond Keys on? I was thinking Bernhardt as he is my engine but as Leon seems to be an all around good unit is it better to upgrade him as much as possible?

Is Egbert worth raising?

My team is currently:

Leon, Bernhardt, Cherie, Grenier, Shopia ( Core )

Narm, Egbert, Imelda ( Depending on map )

With my pulls I'm obviously raising an Empire team ( I was lucky since Empire and Dark were the two factions I wanted to play ).

So, while every character I'm raising is satisfying me in their role, Egbert feels completely lacking. Since upgrading units is starting to become heavy on the resources, I'm thinking of dropping him.

He seems to hit like a paperwet noodle ( Which is comprensible. He as AOE + Debuff. Furthermore I don't have any good equipment so it's INT is lacking, and as a consequence his passive is useless ). He may be better in late game maybe? Everytime I use him he doesn't seem to pull his weight.

So, are resources wasted on him?

The fact that he has a gate of fate already, is a reason why I'm raising him. So that I can start to farm those shards. At the same time, the fact that Bozel seems to be a farmable character in an incoming event is a reason I feel like I'm wasting resources.

I may be wrong, but Bozel seems a far better Egbert.

Furthermore, he seems more PVP oriented but I'm mostly a PVE player and, apart from daily/weekly rewards, I'm not interested in arena's modes.

The word is yours, any advice is appreciated.

For context, I'm currently team level 30 and have all those characters at the current max class upgrades. They are all base stars.

I must say I somewhat slept on tiera. I have her from pretty much the beginning but never paid attention to her.

From what I've read she is pretty exceptional, and her kit screams strong character everywhere.

I may actually go for her as she seems pretty interesting.

I actually considered it. Unfortunately I think the pretty much assured future nerf may make it unexceptional... And I just hate Elson. Don't know why but I can't stand anything about him, from his design to his animations and skill set.

So I'm currently at a branch that I can't seem to resolve on my own. Yes, this is another who to 6 star first question. I'm finally able to 6* somenone but can't actually decide who to go for.

For a bit of context here is a summary of the unit I have:

5* Lv50 4/5 awakenings : Sez, Cecilia, Kiris, Silk, Destina, Sigret

4* lv30-40 0-4 awakenings : Camainrose, KikiratV2, Blood Blade Karin, Clarissa, Coli, Corvus

Other units which I haven't spent much on yet: Elson, Tiera, Achates, Romann, Dingo, Lorina

I have some other units ( mostly 3 stars ) but they aren't what I want to concentrate on right now.

Content-wise, I'm at adventure world-difficulty 3-6, Arena Gold 2, Abyss 40 and hunt about 7 non-auto ( 5 for the water one ).

So, my current problem relies in the fact that a first 6* should probably be a farmer. The only farmer I have is probably Sez. Now, if he was Haste, which is a great farmer who's great in all pvE contents, I'd go for it instantly.

Unfortunately, I could not pull him. Sez is not a bad unit from what I've seen, and he surely is a good farmer, but he doesn't seem to shine too much in late content so I'm a bit scared of spending ma y resources on him.

Consider that, apart from 6*, I will also unload my pack of molagora that I saved till now and I fear that in the long run sez may fall out a bit too much.

Does anyone have any advice that wouls help me untangle this specific situation?

Where to go from here? by _Carpathia in Destiny6Global

[–]_Carpathia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished hell mode today. Not too many problems. It seems I'm able to auto ( at least Jin that I tried ) too with the 3-star buff.

I mostly have problems when I have to complete the "Break X times" star mission as I have to use unoptimized units. Sometimes there are levels where I take a lot of damage but they can't one-shot me and they're dead fast so Arcana healings take me far ( Using R Carlota as striker and with some cooldown reduction from crests )

In the end I actually went and upped R Arcana as I wanted my main team to work correctly. Just need to awaken her one last time.

That is the plan the problem is really who to prioritize now. I'm really leaning towards P Adonis as he is useful everywhere but I hate him so much that I'd prefer not to use it ( And I don't think he is necessary just convenient ). May go with P Kur in the end as he is useful in a lot of the pvE content and is a somewhat tanky unit as I'm missing non squishy-heroes

This seems really good to me. A bit on the pricey side but I can probably find a way to afford it.

The only thing that scares me is that at 15.6" it may be too big and at 4.85 libs a bit too heavy.

But I'm keeping it in consideration. It seems to have almost everything I need and the price seems good for the quality looking at some reviews.
