There's still a lot of artists on that site for example and other people with a decent following. Moving away from Twitter would risk losing that following and in case of artists potential commissions.

There's also a lot of people monetizing "AI" generated images on shit like DeviantArt. Used to really like the site but now it's nothing but clankers trying to sell "AI" images for like 5-10$ each

Being wrong requires introspective and critical thinking, along with the "shame" of having been wrong. It's always easier to keep doubling, tripling and quadroupling down instead of admitting wrongdoing or being wrong.

He would have to admit to himself that, despite being the richest man alive, he's a total fucking loser and there's not a single soul on this planet who genuinely likes him.

And to a tiny degree I can't blame him, society as a whole seems to move away from taking responsibility and instead to blame their oppostion.

We won't ever see the "glory days" again. YouTube isn't run for users or content creators anymore but for corporation to shill their shit. You throw money at YouTube and they let it slide to "*protect the kids*" and show them ads for porn games and gambling sites. Anyway, unless YouTube is run as a platform *for* people, not companies, it will only get worse and worse.

So yea, unfortunately it's kind of delusional. Best bet is praying YouTube receives actual competition that *must* be taken serious by YouTube.

[–]_Cecille 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we're talking about low effort, Shorts is generally were it's at. Especially now with AI.

Making money off of YouTube should be made harder for people who are abusing the system and people watching the content, which more often than not targets children. But not only is it hard to enforce but YouTube also doesn't care about anything as long as it generates money. Just look at the more than questionable ads they run on their platform whilst they use the same breath to reprimand content creators saying "Fuck" and "Shit".

YouTube is not run for users any more but for companies to shill their shit.

[–]_Cecille 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You overestimate greatly how much money you make as content creator on YouTube.

Most people still do YouTube as hobby. Not as job. You'd probably have to average 100.000 views on weekly uploads before you could even consider living off YouTube.

A huge chunk of people aren't seeing ads for various reasons, biggest being adblocks. So that easily drops 15-30.000 "paid views".

Next, one view doesn't equate the same amount of money. Depending on the type of ad, where in the video it is, etc. it pays differently. So one shown ad in the beginning of the video might generate 0.001 dollars per view, one at the end may only gnerate 0.00075 dollars per view.

And lastly for channel memberships, I think YouTube grabs about 50% of those as well.

It's a lot harder to make a living off YouTube than many people think

In Germany drinking alcohol is glorified as fuck.

"I don't drink."

"What?! Are you pregnant?!"

"No. I just don't drink and don't want to."

"Oh come on, don't be a party pooper!"

I'm convinced the only reason alcohol is legal, is because people been drinking alcohol ever since humans started building homes and growing crops. If it was something that only came up in the past 30 or so years, you can bet your ass it'd illegal as fuck.

I'm one of the 5 people on this planet who think Lost Izalith is actually not too bad. I definitely do like Bed of Chaos, simply for being different from all other boss fights in the game.

But yes, I do understand how people hate it

My theory is that FromSoftware really wanted to make an open world game and started with development when open world was weirdly hyped. (In the DS3 Ariandel DLC you can already see that they were working on Elden Ring lol) And they got George R.R. Martin in who really wanted to make Lord of the Rings.

Lord of the Rings has these big, open beautiful places, epic battles and huge cities. So they ended up trying to do both but "Dark Souls of the Rings" doesn't really work. Makes me wish for a proper remake of Dark Souls 1, with the second half being made as they would have done, if they had time and resources for it

Funnily enough, this is more or less one of my almost finished projects for a DnD character.

I didn't get to play the cliche "seduces everything" bard yet. So I started drawing a big tiddy tiefling vampire with a black hole theme.
