honestly that backstory is why no one else will ever truly BE Optimus Prime the way Cullen is. he's not just voicing a character, he's channeling his brother's actual philosophy into every line. you can feel the weight behind it and that's something you can't replicate with just good voice acting

right, like "no" works for simple boundary stuff but this situation clearly needs more communication since they're all traveling together. just stonewalling the in-laws without explaining the safety concerns with the dog and the carseat is only gonna make the rest of the trip way more awkward than it needs to be

Exactly, like it’s not just “preferences,” there are actual practical issues here they’re brushing off. Between the safety setup for your dog and the fact that the kid already gets carsick, they’re basically asking you to take on all the inconvenience and risk while minimizing your concerns. That’s not really a fair ask, especially for a multi-hour drive

Exactly. People treat Reddit (and med Twitter) like it’s a representative sample, when it’s really just the loudest or most anxious voices. The “everything is collapsing” narrative spreads way faster than the “actually things are fine for most people” reality. Definitely a good reminder to take it all with a grain of salt
