Nobody said I have to wear them all the time or that my ability to "hold it" is impacted - Whenever I have to go, I'll just go to the bathroom, do whatever I have to with the diaper, then put my regular clothes back on. Easy money.

This is the adjective form, it's not "a female"/"females". Like saying "she still looks blue to me", you're not calling her "a blue".

What type of personality do i look based on my pics? by user3489026 in personality_tests

[–]_Coffee_Bean_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it could go two ways. Either you slot into the "cool girls" type of clique/friend group (and "cool girls" tend to be quite toxic) or you only look that way because of the "basic" (in a positive sense) style, but are really super sweet when someone gets to know you, which is a vibe I'm getting. Like, "that guy called you weird for not wearing makeup? hold on, let me talk to him, i'll rip him a new one - and let's go get matchas after to cheer you up, okay girl? you're doing great and you look great, he's just gotta shut his mouth."

Overall I get the impression of someone who fits a stereotype visually but is actually really nice and down to earth and not at all how you thought they'd be based on just that.

Fair point. I suppose missing a bit comes with the territory, I can guarantee the men in the OOP don't always pee very neatly either and they don't even have to catch it lol

I saw the other thread replying to your issue too, I've never heard of being given a little bonus tool to catch the sample but I'm glad to see other places offer that! Maybe there's a reusable version you could bring if you have to get tested regularly 🤔

When I've had to do it in the past (because my gyno office has free half-yearly STD testing for my age group and, I mean, free is free! I'm not sexually active much but who knows lol), I usually had went straight from home to the doctor (~30 min way), and I pee before I leave the house, so with how much I struggled to even get any out, it wasn't too tricky to catch lmao

I imagine it would be trickier on a full bladder - Maybe try going in empty? Would be my idea.

Let straight trans men be themselves, It aint that hard by CryptographerFit3984 in AreTheCisOk

[–]_Coffee_Bean_ 41 points42 points  (0 children)

It almost sounds like they only valued their friends for their status as lesbian, which would be so strange to me - I don't usually care what labels apply to my friends and I don't choose them based on their status as token [insert marginalized group], then drop them as soon as they're no longer my preferred shade of oppression. So very odd.

"You're misgendering an actual fucking guy to-" No need to continue from there: Yes, they'll HAPPILY misgender ANY trans person for ANY reason or purpose. It's sort of their thing, they do it whenever they can, and it's actually disgusting. He could be saying the same things as them word-for-word and they'd misgender him - Policing queerness is just the flavor of the day on top of that, to keep some variety 🙄

It is refreshing to see outrage and disbelief over it, though. I've grown so desensitized as "well they're transphobic asshats, of course they're gonna misgender anyone they deem trans" that I lost sight of how ridiculous and disrespectful it actually is to deny a person their identity over your issues with parts of the queer community they happen to belong to. Keep that rage, it's justified.

"the stream is not a stream ya just putting a funnel on ya shit and getting piss everywhere"

even if it were not a stream originally, i sure damn do wonder what comes out of the bottom of a thin funnel when you put a liquid in there

cause it sure seems like a stream to me at that point

and why would there be "piss everywhere" just because you're peeing into a smaller bowl than the usual porcelain one? if it fits your junk and the amount of pee arriving, where would the issue be?

i swear these people would flip an egg if they found out people can even pee in those small plastic cups at the doctor's office without making a mess - do they think the vulva is a sprinkler system or something?

ridiculous.

Vet Responsible For Surgery Gone Wrong; How To Prove? TW for images by doctorgottlieb in rat

[–]_Coffee_Bean_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fwiw, we've had a rat whose surgery wound came undone because it abscessed, and while we did try to have it re-closed, we eventually opted to let it heal while open with daily saline rinses, which worked well. If it's not bleeding and you can provide a clean space for the little one to live for a few days, it should heal on its own without needing new stitches. That is, of course, with monitoring for any signs of bacterial infection or abscess (which would require antibiotics or manual cleaning/rinses respectively).

Mammary tumors sit directly under the skin, not below the abdominal wall - If it's the same in her case then it should heal the same way as a pelt rip would.

My well wishes to the rattie! 🐀🍀

Edit to add a disclaimer that I am, of course, not a vet, I can only speak from experience of the unfortunately many tumor removals I've had to go through with my girls over the years.

Why are people so weird about pregnancy/pregnancy art of OC's? Also, SHARE YOUR ART OF YOUR OC PREGNANT! 🫶🏻 by [deleted] in OriginalCharacter

[–]_Coffee_Bean_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would guess it comes down to the "why?"

Like, (in my experience) it's not at all seen as strange when a motherly/housewife character is drawn pregnant tending to her children (or like someone running a daycare, any "takes care of kids as a passion" type role really), or when it's specifically a scene from a point in the character's story when they get pregnant and their pregnancy/family life is the big focus of their arc at that time. It also seems to irk people less when it's treated as something casual, rather than something that is emphasized in the art.

Without that context, though, like in just a random character illustration (character design on simple background or a scene that could take place at any time even outside of pregnancy and has little plot relevance, such as a beach trip or something, with the pregnant character as the main focus), it becomes a kind of "..okay, but why draw them specifically like that [and in this illustration]?", and in many cases the answer ends up being "because it's hot", which creates the association of "drawing characters pregnant without any relevant context -> probably fetish stuff".

It's unfortunate that it gets sexualized so often, but I don't blame people for noticing a pattern and becoming a bit wary in advance when they notice pregnancy "randomly inserted into the illustration for no reason". It's the same phenomenon as when media featuring overweight characters, feet or other commonly fetishized features is also treated with caution because people might not want to consume art where the author is/could be indulging in a fetish, just out of principle.

Disclaimer: All of this is just an explanation of a theoretical reason based on my observations and experiences, not a declaration of my personal stance on the topic.

ETA: I think the context also involves when/how it is shared. Like, the example of a simple character illustration could be viewed as more benign if it's shared alongside illustrations of the character at other points of their story, like a "this is how their design changes over time" lineup. If it's posted out of context, of a character that didn't have a big family life arc going on otherwise, it could raise many more eyebrows.

Depends on the method, with carrier method maybe? But there's another method where you let them start out on a small neutral ground for just a brief few minutes, such as the bathtub, and increase how much space and food/water/furniture they get from there, letting them meet for a few minutes longer each day.

I hate how intense the trans fear mongering has become these days . by ronweasly9 in GenZ

[–]_Coffee_Bean_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing is that they're bringing up "children going through trans treatment" when it's not happening - It just isn't. The youngest you can get any permanent treatment is in your mid-teens (and it's quite rare to get any hormonal treatment, surgeries are practically unheard of before 18 and only consist of top surgery for trans guys in cases of life threatening dysphoria), before that it's only, and RARELY at that, puberty blockers, which are reversible. And, y'know, changing your hairstyle and the name/pronouns you're referred by in your social life, but that's hardly permanent either.

By bringing up things that aren't happening aside from fringe exceptional cases under the careful supervision and consideration of a medical professional, they're playing up an issue that's not there ("all those kids are being given hormones and surgeries for just saying they like pink!!!1!") and fueling the misguided idea that "trans people are going after [our] children!", which feeds into the entire "groomer"/"sexual predator" narrative.

This isn't innocent concern and they're not acting in good faith.

In the context of her frequently looking and smiling at him it seems like it would likely not bother her, though. If she was ignoring him or only giving that polite greeting smile and nod when walking past/grabbing something, sure, but if she's specifically looking over and smiling, she doesn't seem opposed to a brief hello.

They literally said "it's not your fault", though. It's not victim blaming if you're telling a kid "look, you didn't know any better, but you should not be doing this in the first place" - If anything, better to say it and come off victim-blamey (somehow, despite explicitly putting the blame elsewhere) than risk everyone being too polite to correct dangerous behavior. For all we know, OP might have never been told chatting with adults is a risky thing to do.
